So fresh….
One of the bests perks of living in Southern California is its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. Besides the famous sand and surf, the seafood is truly some of the best in the world.
And whether you’re in a neighbourhood close to the beach or not, Los Angeles is rich in seafood options, both locally and from all over the globe. From a killer lobster roll to a bomb Branzino, check out six standout seafood dishes found at some of LA’s top restaurants.
Seared Scallops at The Palm Downtown
One of the most iconic restaurants of all time, The Palm is much more than a place for a meal, it’s an experience. With the first location opening in New York City way back in 1926, The Palm has become synonymous with fine dining and famous for its top notch lobster and steak (and signature colorful caricatures in the walls). But beyond the traditional surf and turf, The Palm’s menu is stacked with some stellar seafood selections. Right now there is even a number of seafood specials during Lent, our favorite of which is the Seared Scallops severed with Pearl Couscous.

Chilean Sea Bass Souvlaki at Avra Beverly Hills
Escaping to the Greek Islands is a dream for many Angelenos, and while not everyone can jet-set at the drop of hat, Avra Beverly Hills authentically brings the tastes, traditions and culinary techniques of the region to Southern California, transporting its patrons to an enchanting Mediterranean experience. On the menu, guests will find elevated traditional Greek cuisine with an emphasis on fresh seafood. As a starter, order the Chilean Sea Bass Souvlaki, which is grilled and served over a to-die-for roasted red pepper sauce.

Connecticut Lobster Roll at Salt & Pearl
Salt & Pearl is the South Bay’s newest and freshest seafood dining experience, located in the heart of Riviera Village in Redondo Beach. Helmed by local entrepreneurs, Mickey Mance and Justin Essman, the spot opened in January with a menu that celebrates diversity and flavor, meticulously crafted to appease a wide array of palates and dietary needs. Among the culinary delights is a Connecticut Lobster Roll, a luxurious concoction of succulent lobster lavishly coated in infused hot butter and nestled within a soft, toasted brioche bun, all crowned with a sprinkle of fresh chives.

Executive Chef & Proprietor Bret Thompson and Lucy Thompson-Ramirez recently opened Pez Coastal Kitchen, a new upscale seafood focused eatery in Pasadena. Located on the corner of Union Street and North Raymond Avenue, the lively and innovative dining experience opened in February and has already become buzzy thanks to its fresh sea and farm-to-table, seasonal California cuisine.
