Celebrities take their birthdays very seriously, and that includes where they party And there’s lots to consider: the location, the food, the ambience, the privacy, the vibe etc. Nothing is overlooked. If you are ready to celebrate like a celeb, check out some of these LA birthday-worthy hotsspots.

Craig’s

Located on Melrose Avenue in the heart of West Hollywood, Craig’s is known for its American cuisine. Top menu items include the meatloaf and ribeye steak, but many of its patrons are also fans of its pasta.

Head Chef Kursten Kizer has worked hard to create a menu that showcases “upscale comfort food,” but also makes something for everybody with vegan specialities. The food and the dark-lit wooden interior have caught the attention of many celebrities. 

Most famously, Kylie Jenner kicked off her 21st Birthday celebration here back in 2018, but the restaurant has stood the test of LA time as Kelly Osbourne just celebrated her 39th birthday here. Craig’s proudly advertises its event hosting capabilities, including a quote from comedian and actor Jeff Ross who claims “Craig’s is the Olive Garden for celebrities.’

Delilah

After Kylie Jenner wrapped up at Craig’s for her 21st, she headed over to another celebrity birthday hotspot: Delilah. Also known for its American fare, Delilah’s aWest Hollywood staple known for its specialty cocktails and 1920s decor. 

Its soul food menu has become a celebrity favorite, especially for the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Kylie is not the only family member who celebrated her 21st birthday there; older sister Kendall Jenner did as well. In fact, Kendall now has a dessert on the menu named after her called “Kendall’s Slutty Brownie.”

Outside the KarJenners, other celebrities who have used Delilah as a birthday venue include Kaia Gerner and most recently, Cardi B for her 31st.

Nobu

It’s automatically a given that Nobu is on this list. One of the most famous sushi places in the world, the Japanese cuisine inspired restaurant has made a name for itself. And there’s the ins-and-outs of how to eat at Nobu as well. Guests should follow a formula of having three cold dishes, three hot dishes and then sushi and dessert. Some top menu favorites include Yellow Tail Jalapeño, Rock Shrimp Tempura Creamy Spicy and Black Cod Miso. 

This list of celebrities who have celebrated here are endless, including Hailey Bieber, Cameron Diaz, Caitlyn Jenner and more. Paparazzi literally wait outside the Malibu location on a nightly basis so there’s a good chance you’ll see see a star dining here any night of the week. If Craig’s is the Olive Garden for celebrities, then this place is the Cheesecake Factory.

Poppy

Here at Loop Magazine, we are no stranger to nightclub Poppy. The venue describes itself as a “high-style nightclub & cocktail lounge with surreal decor.” It’s where “nightclub meets high fashion playground.”

There are a number of whimsical rooms in Poppy, making guests feel like they are in a story book setting. The library is quite a popular place, as well as the garden. The A-Loist venue has luxury written all over it, that it is no wonder the legendary party king Drake has celebrated his birthday there and just last year Cardi B went all out for a burlesque themed 30th.

Funke

There are a lot of LA restaurants in the running for best Italian spot, and Funke is one of them. As celebrity chef Evan Funke’s newest spot, this multi story space is meant to reflect the last 25 years of his career as well as the different types of pasta and pasta shapes of Italian regions, including the ones that don’t bring many tourists. 

Kim Kardashian just celebrated her 43rd birthday here, and the hype around this place makes it no easy feat to secure a reservation.

The Nice Guy

For a more intimate setting, check out The Nice Guy. Located on La Cienega, this Italian restaurant uses comfy booths and dim lighting to make patrons feel like they just stepped into The Godfather. The decor is meant to pay homage to the “decadent era of Mafia bars and restaurants, where the owners and their friends can enjoy an evening together.”

Camaraderie is not the only reason you’ll be enjoying the evening. With their extensive Italian menu, guests can choose from a nice selection of pastas, pizzas and meat and fish dishes. This h.wood group property did not skimp on any details, and it has not gone unnoticed by celebrities. Many A-listers including the Biebers, Nicki Minaj, Gigi Hadid and more have frequented the spot. The KarJenner clan has also paid The Nice Guy many visits, including Kim Kardashian who had her birthday last year.

MELROSEPLACE LA

This wouldn’t be a true LA/celebrity list without at least one rooftop spot. MELROSEPLACE LA is a restaurant and café with all the views. One look at their social media and you’ll see they are perfect for any occasion from a chill lunch with friends to a dance all night kind of celebration complete with sparklers and bottle service. This variety made it perfect for rapper YGs 33rd birthday party.

From the decor to the carefully crafted plates and cocktails, this is a restaurant you are meant to be seen at, and there’s something for everybody, from pasta to avocado toast to oysters and sushi.

OffSunset

Nightclub OffSunset specializes in having a good time. Their minimalist website shows they have found their niche and its partying. They’ve broken through the saturated nightlife scene and have caught the attention of countless A-listers. Just take one look at their Instagram and you’ll see tons of familiar faces, including Kaia Gerber and Charly Jordan who celebrated their 21st and 24th birthdays at the club.

LAVO Ristorante

Step out of Sunset Boulevard and into a coastal Italian town at LAVO. The menu is a hybrid between both Southern Italy and Southern California, and guests definitely get the Mediterranean experience with a sunroom dining room that has a retractable roof, accordion windows, triple height ceilings and more. Daytime or nighttime, the ambience is top tier.

For food, pastas are made in house, pizzas are made with single-source whole grain flour, vegetables are local and there is a variety of chicken and steak dishes for land lovers. The 250 seat space has brought in some top celebrity clientele, especially for birthdays. Actress Sofia Vegara, The Hills alum Audrina Patridge and RHOBH star Erika Jayne have all celebrated their birthdays at LAVO.

MainRo

MainRo describes itself as a restaurant and a super club. To them, presentation is everything. They pride themselves in the way food comes out, so the dishes “follow the magic of the venue” and “not only do our guests have a memorable experience with the venue but the culinary journey during their visit.”

The menu offers a variety of specialty surf and turf, and the nightlife brings in signature female dancers, strobe lights and all the special effects one would expect in a Hollywood party. It is no wonder the influencer Nikita Dragun and NBA star James Harden have celebrated their birthdays here.

Beauty & Essex

If you are all for fusion style cuisine and interesting food combinations, then Beauty & Essex is the place for you. This 10,000 square foot space showcases the creations of Chef Santos, including Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup Dumplings. Other top items include Tuna Poke Wonton Tacos and Oven Braised Chicken Meatballs. They even have a speciality menu called “Beauty Hour” which is only available Monday through Thursday from 5-8 p.m.. 

Shop while you eat with the pawn-inspired retail shop that actually sells vintage jewelry, custom musical instruments and one of a kind art. This unique restaurant, lounge and shop have caught the eyes of multiple celebrities including Brooklyn Beckham, Kehlani and Chloë Grace Moretz who celebrated birthdays there.
