How Celebrity Makeup Artist Created Reese Witherspoon's Classic Look For The 2024 Golden Globes

A fashionable family affair. Reese Witherspoon oozed old Hollywood glamour as she attended the 2024 Golden Globes, held in Los Angeles on Jan. 7.
Bringing along her 20-year-old son Deacon Phillippe, who she shares with ex Ryan Phillippe, the actress wore blush pink and black Monique Lhuillier dress crafted of textural velvet and featuring an asymmetrical bodice with a singular strap that sat off the shoulder. She also showed off a collection of dazzling Tiffany & Co. jewels.
To compliment the elegant look, celebrity makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan wanted a classic look with a simple defined eye and soft, pink lips. Check out how Kelsey created Reese’s beauty look using Westman Atelier products below.
Complexion
To begin Reese’s base, Kelsey applied the Westman Atelier Vital Skincare Complexion Drops in Atelier III with the Westman Atelier Liquid Blender Brush for a beautifully natural, light to medium coverage.
“These complexion drops even the skin’s tone while also hydrating and smoothing,” says Kelsey.

In areas that may need a bit more coverage, she applied the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick, in Atelier III and V and pressed it into the skin using her fingertips.

To add some additional definition to the face, Kelsey swept the Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick in Truffle under the cheek bones and jawline.

To set, Kelsey used the Westman Atelier Vital Pressed Skincare Powder in Translucent over the entire face, focusing on the t-zone and under-eye areas.

To add a flush of color to the cheeks, she used the Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Petal, a dusty nude rose, along her cheek bones and then added Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Highlight in Peau De Rosé to the top of the cheekbones and bridge of nose, for a “lit from within” glow.

Brows/Eyes
Reese has an amazing brow shape, so the Westman Atelier Bonne Brow Defining Pencil in Clay was the perfect tool to use. “It’s buildable formula and angled tip create fine, hair-like strokes, ideal for filling in the tiniest of sparse areas or also great for those who need to create a fuller brow,” Kelsey adds.

To begin the eyes, Kelsey used shade Tabac from Westman Atelier Les Jours Eye Pods collection and swept it over the entire lid using the Westman Atelier Eyeshadow I Brush. The warm bronze on the lid catches the light allowing the shadow to show dimension.

Next, Kelsey applied Rendez-vous Eye Pod in shade Frappé in the crease, blending in a deep, shimmering brown while adding definition to the eye with the Westman Atelier Eyeshadow II Brush.

To further amplify the shadow, she added the Westman Atelier Les Jours eye pod in Chocolat in the outer corner of the eyes and finished the shadow by softly sweeping shade Chocolat at the bottom lash line, followed by Tabac with a slightly larger, soft brush.
Next, line the eyes with the Westman Atelier Eye Love You Eye Pencil in Kôhl Brun, a beautiful terracotta brown, along the top water line and under the bottom lashes.

To finish the eyes Kelsey applied a few generous coats of Westman Atelier Eye Want You Mascara in Pitch Black for dramatic, voluminous lashes.

To complete Reese’s Golden Globes look, Kelsey used a mixture of Peony and Café Créme, from the Westman Atelier Lip Suede Palette: Les Nudes, creating a pinky nude tone. The Westman Atelier Lip Brush is the perfect density to apply an even coat of this gorgeous lip color.
