Hot Girl Calendar: 5 LA Events To Celebrate Women’s History Month

Hot girls celebrate Women’s History Month

Friday, the world honored International Women’s Day, but the celebrations are not limited to March 8. With the entire month of March being Women’s History Month, Los Angeles has multiple events to honor the powerful females of our past, present and future.

Los Angeles rightly planned a full itinerary to celebrate Women’s History Month, and its origins are actually from California. Santa Rosa, California initially began a “Women’s History Week” in 1978 that would align with International Women’s Day. The week gained traction and eventually became a full month now celebrated nation-wide.

From art galleries to live music performances, celebrate what makes you feel like a woman whether it’s your girlhood, femininity, perseverance, strength or any trait that makes you you. Keep scrolling to see the following events Loop is most looking forward to.

Smorgasburg x Art Share L.A. Art Fair: Women’s History Month Edition

While the art world seems like a creative and diverse space from the outside, it actually has a hidden hierarchy that hinders artists of certain racial, socioeconomic and sexual-orientation groups. That is why Art Share L.A. works tirelessly to dismantle these ranks and showcase artists from these communities.

For March, they are partnering with Smorgasburg to have an art fair showcasing women-identifying artists. Creative work that will be showcased includes original artwork, fine art prints, sculptured ceramics, woodwork, and photography. This event is free to attend.

When: Sunday March 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: The Row DTLA, 777 S Alameda St., Los Angeles

Did you know that it was not until 1988 that a woman could legally start a business without the permission of a man? Before President Reagan signed the Women’s Business Ownership Act, they always needed male co-signers for their loans and entrepreneurship paperwork.

Over 30 years later, the world has multiple female owned businesses, and this event is spotlighting some local LA ones as patrons can sip a beverage of their choice while looking at a variety of craftsmanship and products from female-owned businesses. Wolf & Badge will also be hosting pop-ups for Jennafer Grace, Decolet the Label and Neos Candlestudio.  This event is free to attend.
