Hotel Ziggy WeHo: A Music Lovers Dream Stay

One of the hottest hotels on the Sunset Strip.…

When I make the long trek from New York City to Los Angeles, my playlist is key. Rap music pulsing through my AirPods is the only way I survive the 5+ hour flight and car ride from LAX to West Hollywood. But what was different about my most recent trip was that the music didn’t stop just because I arrived at my hotel and removed my headphones. This time, the music was pulsing from the moment I entered Hotel Ziggy.

The new music-themed hotel, perched right on Sunset Boulevard, is decked out with record players (which made my Baby Boomer parents cringe when I admitted I had no idea how to use one) and iconic music-themed decor. Whether you’re into rap like me or more of a rock ‘n roll enthusiast, you’ll feel right at home at Hotel Ziggy as a music lover in West Hollywood.

When I first walked into Hotel Ziggy, I was greeted by the aroma of warm pizza and immediately eyed my signature drink, Jack Daniels, behind the bar. I knew I was in the right place. After a smooth check-in and a glance over at the live music being performed, I was led to my new home for the week- the Swim Up King Suite. The room was twice the size of any other WeHo hotel I’d stayed in, and the walk-in closet felt like it was pulled straight from a scene in Gossip Girl. On the nightstand was a hand-written card welcoming me to the hotel, macaroons, and chilled bottles of water (oh, how I love my job).

After belly-flopping onto the plush bed, I turned on the TV to find Netflix as an option. I decided to relax in the music-themed shower before changing into my PJs, putting on a face mask, jumping into the white plush bed and indulging in some Sex & The City and a few (okay, four) macaroons.

The next morning, I ventured out to explore the hotel. I set up my laptop on the balcony overlooking the pool, the perfect spot to get some work done. I browsed the digital food menu and the Cacio e Pepe pizza caught my eye—yes, that’s a thing. As I looked over the pool like the Queen of Ziggy, I took my first bite of pizza and my eyes rolled back in my head from how delicious it was. After approximately 42 minutes of work, I slammed my laptop shut, sick of being taunted by the glimmering pool, and went for a swim.

Floating on a donut-shaped pool float, I found myself wishing I actually lived at Hotel Ziggy. For now, though, I was content pretending. As the day turned into night, I got dolled up in my hotel bathroom’s perfect makeup mirror, did an outfit check in the massive mirror behind the couch, and took a selfie or two. Once I was ready to go, I met some friends in the hotel lobby and together, we checked out the live music performances at the We Found New Music event. With a Jack & Coke in hand (of course), my friends and I caught up, laughed and enjoyed the live music. Afterward, we wandered upstairs to discover the green room, where artists relax before their shows. Complete with cozy couches, records lining the walls, and soundproofing overhead, the room had an effortless cool that made me feel like part of the band.

Hotel Ziggy is a hidden gem in the heart of West Hollywood, surrounded by all the clubs and restaurants a New Yorker like me comes to Hollywood to see. The warm staff, excellent food, stylish rooms, stunning pool, and creative decor make it a top contender on my list of favorite WeHo hotels. Whether you’re a music aficionado, looking for a fun time with friends, or simply in need of a staycation, Hotel Ziggy in West Hollywood is the place to be.
