Altitude at SLS
Glamour, comfort, and a touch of pink from the LA sunset — all the elements you need for a magical day and evening at the SLS Hotel’s Altitude Pool. Spoil yourself with poolside service and delicious small plates from celebrity Chef José Andrés while soaking up some rays. This rooftop haven provides stunning views of Beverly Hills which can be observed from your own private cabana while sipping on a Poema Cava from Spain. FYI — the pool is open to hotel guests only and the only exception to this rule is through a cabana rental. Pool service hours are from 11am-5pm during the off-season and 9am-7pm for the extended in-season hours. Starting in May, DJs spin open format music on the weekends, amping up the atmosphere with live entertainment.

Harriet’s Rooftop
Located on the rooftop of the 1 Hotel in West Hollywood, Harriet’s spacious and old-fashioned cocktail lounge delivers a composed and relaxed atmosphere with overhanging string lights and luscious plants. Enjoy bottle service and hors d’oeuvres with a panoramic view of LA on this open-air patio. Hand-crafted cocktails are made from local and seasonal ingredients, like orange blossom honey and fresh mint. Part of the bar is also indoors, dimly lit upon a classy ambiance, for those who forgot their cardigans to chill outside.
Skybar at Mondrian
The Skybar at the Mondrian Hotel boasts 360-degree city views and elegance covering every corner of the chic poolside lounge. Models tend to make an appearance in this modern and sleek space, adding more sexiness to the already attractive scene of sunbathers indulging in fresh cocktails. The hottest feature of Skybar, however, is its poppin’ nightlife, featuring world-class DJs and nightly events, occupied by high-energy crowds. If you’re looking for a good time, which for some people means just lounging by the pool all day and for others, dancing and taking shots with new friends, then Skybar will not disappoint. Just make sure to arrive after 1pm as beforehand the bar is private for hotel guests only!
E.P & L.P
While E.P consists of the Asian eatery, L.P is considered the roof deck section of this fine establishment, one of the largest in LA. Amazing city views, creative small bites with Thai and Vietnamese influences, and hand-crafted cocktails are just a few of the attractive elements of L.P. The setting is modern and stylish with greenery, firepits, and the perfect mood lighting at night. Spots on the terrace are first come first served, open daily until 2 a.m.
Perch
Located on the 16th floor of the Pershing Square Building in downtown LA, Perch is an upscale rooftop lounge that’s connected to an impeccable French-inspired restaurant. The outdoor space is decorated with ornate furniture and fire pits, creating an intimate space for guests. Parisian-influenced cocktails are available from the bar while live music performances get the evenings started off at 5pm with jazzy tunes followed by DJs to keep the good vibes flowing. A 360-degree view of DTLA with sweet sounds of jazz playing in the background as the sun fades into the night sky… is a dreamy moment indeed.
The Standard, Downtown LA
The Standard hotel in DTLA holds an amazing bar/ lounge area on its rooftop, literally called The Rooftop, featuring a heated swimming pool and waterbed pods. Day parties are typically held in the summer, but the nightlife is all year long baby. This hotspot is known for its dope events, including performances from artists like Peaches and Justice. There are typically three different DJs spinning on weekdays and four on weekends. The overall crowd tends to be a mix of travelers and locals, as hotel guests have priority to rooftop access. Here’s a tip: if you want guaranteed entry, as admission is based on discretion at the door, book a room for the night, and remember to dress to impress.
The Penthouse at The Huntley
Perhaps one of the most elegant rooftops in Santa Monica, The Penthouse on the 18th floor of the Huntley Hotel serves as a restaurant and lounge offering incredible views of the ocean and rolling hills of LA through its floor to ceiling windows. The interior design is composed of white leather armchairs and cozy booths surrounded by sheer white curtains, thanks to famed designer Thomas Schoos. Relax in one of the beach cabanas among the open sky enclave with a happy hour cocktail (4pm-7pm weekdays), or treat yourself to the fresh catch of the day.
