During New York Fashion Week, The Proper Label celebrated its 10th anniversary in style with a black-tie event at the stunning 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge.
The event, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the New York City skyline, was a night to remember, bringing together an eclectic mix of fashion, music, and culture enthusiasts. The event was presented by Play 4 Purpose, Dress for Success and SOL.
The Proper Label’s 10th anniversary is not just a celebration of a decade in the fashion industry, but a reflection of the brand’s deep-rooted values and mission. Brought up in Paris with African roots, the founders have witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of waste on our planet, particularly in Africa. This awareness has driven them to prioritize sustainability, diversity, and inclusivity in every aspect of their work.
The Proper Label was born out of a desire to create stylish, comfortable sneakers with sustainability at the forefront, aiming to redefine the sneaker industry by producing classics that last longer and reduce waste. As they celebrate this milestone, The Proper Label continues to embody its commitment to positive environmental impact, hoping to inspire others to share in their passion for sustainability and their love for thoughtfully crafted sneakers.
“Creating The Proper Label has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life,” Founder of The Proper Label, Camille Tanoh said. “Being able to celebrate our 10 year anniversary with hundreds of our loved ones and supporters was an evening I will never forget.”
Key guests in attendance included a blend of industry icons, artists, and influencers. Notable figures such as Camille Tanoh, Julia Bergshoeff, and Cari Champion graced the event with their presence. World-renowned photographer, Stephane Feugere captured images of the dazzling guests.
They were joined by Keenan MacWilliam, Hawa, Essence Carson, Whitney Kyles, and Malik Sidibe, each adding their unique flair to the gathering. The event also saw appearances by Myles Rowe, Sandy Gould, Villabeatz, Corey St. Rose, Julianne Elise Beffa, Sydney Lepselter, Joseph Rogers, Amaya Rousseau, KRISSY, Solène De Clippeleir, Eric Essebag, Sean Brady, Gil Bensasson, Arianna Mason, and Daniel Dorcena.
The evening was marked by electrifying DJ sets from Freddie Ransome, known as Miniskrrt and Alyx Ander, who kept the energy high and buzzing throughout the night. The anniversary celebration perfectly blended sophistication and creativity, reflecting The Proper Label’s journey over the past decade. As guests mingled, shared stories, and looked forward to the future, a testament to the brand’s impact on the fashion and lifestyle landscape.
Guests were invited to an after party at New York City hotspot, Loosie’s, and continued the celebration. With the iconic New York City skyline as a backdrop, the celebration was a visual and sensory delight, capturing the essence of The Proper Label—stylish, influential, and ever-evolving.
