Let’s Get Creative: What’s New in Nightlife Fashion
- Wardrobe recommendations by Clea Bierman
Because nightlife fashion should be unabashed. . .
I’ll be blunt, when it comes to nightlife fashion, I’m craving something new. Lately, I’ve noticed my favorite influencers are donning latex dresses or are clad in leather. While these form-flattering trends may be classics, I haven’t been particularly inspired by these choices to push the boundaries of what’s wearable or show up to a venue or event in attention-grabbing garbs. However, a plethora of designers – who are well known but are not necessarily named one of the big fashion houses – are making show-stopper items that should be incorporated into your nightlife wardrobe immediately. Here are my recommendations:
Fanci Club
Recommendation: Love Potion No.9 Dress
While many of the dresses in this line give vintage Emanual Ungaro vibes, this particular piece revitalizes Y2K fashion in just the right way. A sheer mini, the turtleneck and long sleeves may look modest from the front, but the fur-trimmed open back creates a welcomed and snazzy surprise. I’d go with green for club night in LA.
SLXWORLD
Recommendation: ‘Pink Metal’ mini skirt with giant eyelet detailing
This is the must-have miniskirt of the season. Large silver eyelets not only make this item particularly unique, but they also show some extra skin – as if you need it with that length (wink). Pair it with a crop top – think silver metallic – and you’ll certainly be club-ready. If you want to break the mold, this line has some of the most outrageous pieces on the market.
ANDREEVA
Recommendation: Orange Flower Top with Feather Details
From the jacquard detailing to the pearl buttons to the fun feather accents, this crop top is sure to make a statement. Pair it with leather pants and you’ll be fit for a sophisticated dinner followed by a lounge scene – I’m thinking live jazz at Bar Lis?!
Kasia Kucharska
Recommendation: Shorts
This brand takes the cake when it comes to being ‘one of a kind.’ There is truly nothing else like the “all-over lace scribble” material that appears to be floating when worn. Pair these shorts with an over-sized vintage T and heeled booties for a concert or bar hopping and I can guarantee you’ll get some compliments.
Studiocult
Recommendation: Brioche Blue Bread Tag Bag
Who knew a throw-away household item could make such a fabulous shape for a purse?! In a variety of neon colors, this statement piece can be handheld or worn with an extended strap. Whether you don all black and let the bag pop or color block for an eye-catching look, this is an accessory that stands out. Loop loves how Christa Allen styled this piece:
