Mob Wife Aesthetic: Shop The Unexpected Style Trend Taking Over TikTok
- By: Ashley Joy Parker

Soprano styles….
Last year “aesthetics” trends took over TikTok. First it was “Barbiecore” then it was “Coastal Grandma” then then it was “Clean Girl.” But in the first months of 2024, its the Mob Wife Aesthetic that has reigned supreme.
Inspired by the luxe ladies behind mobsters (think characters like Adriana la Cerva in “The Sopranos” and Lorraine Bracco in “Goodfellas”), this trend isn’t for the shy girls. Think oversized fur coats over all-black outfits, leopard print on leopard print, giant sunglasses and gaudy jewelery, all styled with French manicures, red lipstick and high-volume hairdo.

Francis Ford Coppola, who directed “The Godfather,” has even commented on the trend, sharing on Instagram, “I heard the ‘mob wife aesthetic’ is making a comeback,” and compared the style to its original inspiration–Diane Keaton as Kay Corleone and Talia Shire’s character Connie Corleone in “The Godfather.”
In addition to endless TikTok influencers, celebs like Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber have been having fun with the gangster glam trend.
