Nightlife Fashion: Where to shop for a night out

Courtesy of House of CB

Are you going out tonight? Maybe this weekend? Perfect. . . So are we!

Growing up in LA I was surrounded by fashion and entertainment. Interning for VIBE Magazine and working as a freelance stylist and visual merchandiser in my twenties, I was always at a party, normally dressed in a bodycon dress, heels, and clutch to match. I was constantly shopping at Foreign Exchange on Melrose, where I worked, or other trendy boutiques or vintage shops along the street. As I grew into my retail career, my style changed as well; my brand choices elevated but my core style was to always be sexy, chic, effortless, and confident. I definitely still went to VIP events and dinners and dressed elite clientele and celebrities for work, but I learned to take fashion risks. Ultimately, I understood HOW to shop and most importantly, where to shop!

My chapter of motherhood has impacted my style tremendously. I never wanted to be caught in “mom jeans,” and even though you can see me in my own brand (Mink and Cookies), I still love to rock a sexy dress, high-waisted skirt, crop tops, and high heels. Online boutiques and Instagram have changed the shopping game and keep me on my toes. Styling tips from influencers, stylists, and celebrities now lie at the tips of our fingers, and we can scroll and purchase all on the app. It makes prepping for, say, a girls’ trip to Las Vegas fun and seamless.

So where do my girls and I go to get all of our sexy, chic night outlooks?

When we want to feel our best, boss-chick, sexy, turn-heads selves, our number one place to shop is House Of CB. For a contactless experience when we’re still looking for a jaw-dropping look, Revolve and Are You, Am I are our top favorites for the perfect party fits. And my absolute must-browse is Lionne Clothing.

House of CB:

Located on Melrose for a rare but real in-person shopping experience, this company carries an array of dresses, sexy separates, and must-have accessories that are guaranteed to keep you hot in the latest trends and color palettes. Perfect for every occasion. Not to mention, they boast sizes and styles that include multiple body types and even better price points. Spending $89-$300 is no big deal for an iconic fashion moment. If you’re in the LA area this is a destination for your night-out needs. My top pick for a night in Vegas would be the Tibi or Dylan dress; or if I wanted to rock separates, the Delia bodysuit , and a sexy mini skirt!

Revolve:

Revolve hosts a variety of brands that we see some of the biggest celebrities and socialites wearing to red carpet events, dinners, and date nights. With looks as low as $32 upwards to $2800, you have so many options to choose from! My pick for a night a sexy girls’ dinner is the Lilly Twisted Strap Dress and the Dolly Crystal Platform Heels.

Are You, Am I:

This luxury line knows how to highlight the body without making everything skin tight. Known for their silk dresses, deep Vs, and backless pieces, any item from this collection is sure to make you the talk of the town. And, if you’re looking for mini skirts, check out their selection- have you ever seen anything like the Kyften?! (But be warned, items sell out quickly).

Lionne Clothing:

One of our all-time favorite brands that are easily becoming a fashion powerhouse is Lionne Clothing. While introducing new silhouettes, interesting textures, and color combinations, Lionne Clothing is getting major fashion features from CDFA, Harpers Bazaar, and V Magazine. This emerging brand is sure to be seen all over red carpets and living in influencers’ closets! I’m feigning for their Allure Skirt and Kimora Crop Top and I’ve already purchased the Tara Blazer Dress.
