- By: Brianna Rose Hewitt
Getting tickets will be “Brutal”…
Olivia Rodrigo is this generation’s song-writing and singing sensation, and a very few lucky fans will have the opportunity to get a deeper glimpse into her mind.
On Oct. 3 in Los Angeles, The Grammy Museum will be holding “The Drop: Olivia Rodrigo,” where the GUTS artist will sit down with Linda Perry to talk about her career, creative process, and other topics. The conversation will be followed by a short performance.
However, there is a catch to this fantastic event. It takes place in the Clive Davis Theater, which only has 200 seats. The American Express presale happened at 10:30 a.m. PST on Thursday, Sept. 28 and sold out in less than five minutes. Price per ticket was $50 and $30 in fees.
Fans will get a second chance to secure tickets on Saturday, September 30 at 12 p.m. PST.
Rodrigo is at a monumental point in her career having released her sophomore album GUTS earlier this month. All tracks on this album have appeared in the Billboard Hot 100 Top 40, just like her debut album SOUR which is this century’s longest running debut album on the Billboard Top 200 Top 10. It also won her three Grammys. She is the first artist to have all their songs from their consecutive career opening albums be ranked on the Top 40.
Her summer single “Vampire” topped charts, outperforming her first 2021 single “Drivers License”, which was the first female single to rank higher than Ariana Grandé’s “Thank U, Next.” She begins her first arena world tour in February, starting off in Palm Springs before traveling the US and Europe and landing back in LA to conclude the dates.
Perry who will be conversing with Rodrigo. Perry is a Grammy, Golden Globe, Critic’s Choice Award-nominated producer, and Songwriter Hall of Fame inductee. She’s worked with some of the industry’s largest names including Grandé, P!nk, Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, Adele, Miley Cyrus and more. Back in 2019, she became the first woman in 15 years to receive the Grammy nomination for Producer of the Year. She’s a music industry legend.
