On Aug. 25, Jessica Simpson, along with lots of wagging tails and happy pups, celebrated International Dog Day at PetSafe‘s Unleashed pop-up dog park event inside Westfield Century City Mall in Los Angeles.
PetSafe, a global leader in pet product solutions, completely transformed the popular mall’s Atrium into a dream dog park, complete with water features, toys, and special guests to help give every dog their perfect play day. The event also kicked off kicked-off its Pet Unleashed contest, which will donate a similar dream dog park to one lucky winner’s community.
Jessica—who wore a Barbie-esque pink mini-dress and bronze platform sandals—was joined by her 11-year-old daughter Maxwell and her goldendoodle Penny. Celebrity animal trainer Brandon McMillan was also on hand (..err paw) for the event.
“PetSafe is a beautiful partnership that I feel so blessed to be a part of because really it’s just about keeping dogs happy, healthy,” Jessica told Access Hollywood at the event. “I personally love the dog park situation, but I find, I have eight dogs because my kids ask for a dog every Christmas and they think Santa brings a dog and all their friends are like, ‘Santa doesn’t bring me a dog!’”
She continued, “We are like our Santa does every year so I’m sure I’ll be on a ninth dog this year. Penny is the one that we’ve like, all of ours dogs are our dogs they come over to our backyard because we have a really big backyard, but we have let people adopt them. So I feel like an adopting agency. Yeah, but there are three at the house (currently).”
