A three-day weekend lies ahead for many, thanks to the MLK holiday, and LA is stacked with parties. Whether you are looking to get lit or dance ’til dawn, you know Loop has a pulse on what’s going down.
From a dance party for Swifties to a comedy show after party, check out our carefully curated list of what’s happening on the L.A. nightlife scene the week of Jan. 8-14.
Trópico Tuesdays at La Cita Bar
With Cumbia and Reggaeton music pumping, palm trees swaying, and Hawaiian leis being passed around the club, Trópico Tuesdays is by far the best thing to do on a Tuesday night in DTLA. Held at La Cita, LA’s favorite Latin dance floor, and hosted by DJ Nativity and The Portuguese Lover, Trópico Tuesdays features the best in tropical music including merengue, hiphop and house- making the night feel like a fiesta at an island getaway. MC Barlos rocks the party as these seasoned DJs play the hits from past to present. Trópico Tuesdays is free and every Tuesday, come experience the vacation you so sorely deserve!

Cherry Poppin Wednesdays at The Room Hollywood
Wednesday’s are especially catered to the 80’s/90’s “Soul Babies” on a night promoter, Monica Payne, likes to call, “Cherry Poppin.” Free before 10:30 p.m. and only $10 after, this is where the sophisticated hip-hop crowd comes to mingle and move to the sounds of resident DJ’s, Tailwind Turner and Tendaji Lathan, collectively known as “TNT.” In classic hip-hop fashion, KG Superstar serves as the Master of Ceremonies and definitely keeps the party rocking. Don’t be surprised if you see a few well known actors, comedians, and musicians grooving with you. If you are looking for classic, R&B, Hip-Hop, and Soul music, then go ahead and hit up The Room on Wednesday night and get your cherry popped!

Mike Glazer After Party at Belly Room
Hosted by Emmy nominated comedian Mike Glazer, Glazer’s After Party will feature incredible comics, mini-Twix, strong drinks, cannabis and big surprises. Rolling Stone called Glazer’s gatherings, “The best live show in LA.” It’s all going down in The Comedy Store’s Belly Room.
