Plant-Based After Dark: Vegan Restaurants Defining West Hollywood Nights

Forget the side salad  —  vegan dining gets glamorous in West Hollywood. From late-night menus and craft cocktails, to plant-based dishes served like artwork, these dining destinations sit at the heart of LA’s vegan nightlife.

Gone are the days of vegan dining meaning bland bowls and early closing hours. In West Hollywood, it’s candlelit pastas, craft cocktails, and buzzing rooms filled with a who’s-who of the scene. Whether you’re starting the night with a lion’s mane steak, or ending it with one last glass of wine, these five restaurants redefine what it means to eat plant-based in style. After all, in LA being vegan isn’t a compromise, it’s an experience of its own.

Gracias Madre

Gracias Madre redefined what vegan Mexican could be, and did it with style. Their elevated classics like jackfruit tacos, enchiladas smothered in cashew crema, and mushroom “carnitas” show that plant-based can still carry bold, layered flavors. Add in one of their seasonal margaritas with a jalapeño sting, and you have a restaurant that doubles as a destination bar. The lush patio is always alive with sparkling lights, a soundtrack balancing Latin heat and global chill, and tables packed with a fashionable crowd that treats cocktails like accessories. For anyone still skeptical about vegan dining, this is where the delicious conversion begins.

Crossroads Kitchen

Crossroads Kitchen is a restaurant that feels every bit as polished and indulgent as its carnivorous peers. Making its mark as one of LA’s go-to fine dining vegan destinations, signature dishes like the Grilled Lion’s Mane Steak, and Eggplant Short Rib prove how filling, yet sophisticated plant-based cooking can be. Their menu is completed with mouthwatering cocktails that tempt you to linger, like the Pomegranate Cosmopolitan. With artful plating, elevated ambiance, and the occasional celebrity sighting, this is where you go when you want vegan dining to feel like a true special occasion.

The Butcher’s Daughter

Bright by day but effortlessly chic by night, The Butcher’s Daughter is a stylishly casual dining room with a seasonal evening menu that holds its own in the vegan and vegetarian dining conversation. A “vegetable slaughterhouse,” they serve plates like the Butcher’s Mushroom, Quinoa & Beet Burger, and the Spaghetti Alla Milanese , which show tasty technique behind their breezy interiors. Their drinks also make a strong showing, like the Silly Boy cocktail: a chili infused tequila blanco with watermelon Caliwater. This is the kind of place where you could start with brunch, slide into dinner, and end the night with one more round at the bar.

Pura Vita

As the first fully plant-based Italian restaurant and wine bar in the U.S., Pura Vita feels like a vegan revelation. Their menu is designed for decadence, with plates such as the Black Magic Lasagna (crafted with black truffle cream and cashew ricotta) stealing the spotlight. The energy is intimate and cozy, with candlelit tables lining the brick walls, sitting in perfect view of their expansive wine selection. The wine list has a variety of options that pair perfectly with each dish, from sparkling Prosecco, to Sicilian whites and robust reds. Pura Vita isn’t just another plant-based restaurant in LA, it’s an unforgettable Italian dining experience.

Taste of Beauty

Taste of Beauty is one of Weho’s vegan newcomers, but is already pushing boundaries with a plant-based menu of Asian-fusion, and artistically theatrical plating that tempts you to “eat your art out.” The atmosphere is moody and minimal, but the multi-course vegan tasting menu unfolds like a delicious performance. Dishes arrive like edible artwork, from their charred eggplant dish, The Hillside, to fresh flower-filled plates like The Grassland. Each plate feels like it’s designed not just to satisfy, but to surprise. Botanical cocktails echo the kitchen’s Asian-fusion lens, with drinks such as Himalayan Sunrise and Red Monk offered as the perfect sip for any dish.
