Luxury Dining and Scenic Sunsets Await at the Hilton Arcadia Los Angeles

your new favorite staycation destination just minutes outside of LA

Rooms to Write Home About

As you enter the hotel lobby through double doors, the outside world slips away, the traffic quiets, a feeling of relaxation sets in and calming music drifts through the halls. This is more than a staycation. It’s a retreat, I think to myself, walking past purple orchids and an artfully designed bar. A short elevator ride later and I arrived at my floor, painted a tranquil blue and dimly lit in a way that feels luxuriously curated. And when I get to my door, a tap of my key card grants access to the gold at the end of the rainbow.

Stepping inside your room feels like letting out a deep breath. Finally, I could give myself a break. Because this space not only beckons rest, it demands it. I walked through the entryway into the main room and was greeted by my name on the TV. Outside my window, the sun was setting over a sweeping view of the Santa Anita Racetrack and a velvet blue chaise offered a perfect spot for a sunset-siesta. Seriously, it was so comfy I would have slept there all night had it not been for the adjacent King-sized bed.

After a life-changing shower in the spacious bathroom with Crab Tree & Evelyn shampoo, conditioner and bodywash, falling into bed felt like a homecoming. Like I hadn’t had proper sleep in months and hadn’t realized it until now. Finally, the decaf Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf brew was perfect for a late night treat while I stayed up watching Netflix. The TV lets you login to your own accounts, so you can pick up where you left off at home.

World Class Dining

For dinner, a friend joined me and we headed upstairs to Hipico Rooftop Restaurant and Bar. Upon stepping out of the elevator, we were greeted with a view that spanned from the racetrack to the shopping corridor on Huntington Drive, and we were seated on a comfortable couch next to heaters as a light breeze rolled off of the San Gabriel mountains. The service felt like luxury dining but not uncomfortably fancy. We started with a Cuervo margarita flight, and the guava margarita with Tajin stole my heart. We finished that off with ceviche and chips. For the main course, we chose the wagyu burger with goat cheese, garlic aioli and jalapeno jam, and the pork kimchi flatbread pizza with gochujang aioli, both of which paired perfectly with the Clarified Del Sol (Cuervo Tradicional Silver, coconut liqueur, pineapple, agave) and the Storm Chaser (Kraken Dark Rum, passion fruit liqueur, lemon, ginger beer). We finished our meal with mango mochi and strawberries on whipped cream.

In the morning, after a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf roast in my room, I headed back to the lobby to check out 19Seventy at the Ovalo and was blown away by a blueberry matcha I’m still dreaming about. The house-made blueberry syrup and foam was fragrant but not overpowering, and the bartender said he’s working on a house-made pistachio syrup that I will absolutely be back for. (The best thing about both restaurants is that you don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy them!) The dining here is slightly more upscale, but there’s bar seating in the lobby that offers a more casual option. Matcha was followed by a custom omelette with burrata, tomato, sausage and avocado, plus toast and country potatoes. Before I left, the chef went out of his way to make a pistachio affogato off the dessert menu, which featured ice cream and Illy espresso. Needless to say, I was caffeinated enough to pack my bags in time for checkout.

Can’t Miss Amenities

Whether you have an hour in between work meetings, or a full day for yourself, the hotel offers amenities that you simply can’t miss out on. The private gym is top-of-the-line, complete with a smith machine, cables, free weights, a workout bench, medicine balls, kettle bells, Peloton bikes and treadmills. Forgot your water bottle? No problem. The gym offers free bottles of water and towels for your comfort. I decided to hit lower body and waddled back to my room for a steamy shower.

After a sweat-sesh, the heated pool is extra enticing. There’s an outdoor shower, so you can rinse off before taking a dip, and plenty of loungers to dry off at your leisure. The pool closes at 10 pm, but at 9 pm it’s still a perfect temperature. (Yes, even in January!) The soft lighting is ambient against the hotel behind it, and relaxing music makes it feel like an oasis.
