Where to Go Out in Hollywood Every Night of the Week: My Weekly Rotation as a Nightlife Editor

If there’s one question I get more than any other, it’s “Where should we go tonight?” After spending more night-outs in Hollywood than I’d like to admit, I’ve developed a weekly rotation that rarely fails me. From Monday night to Sunday night, here are the parties worth going to.

If there’s one question I get more than any other as a nightlife editor, it’s this: “Where should we go tonight?”

The answer is never as simple as naming a venue. In LA (specifically Hollywood), the best night-outs aren’t just about where you go, they’re about knowing exactly when to go. A club that’s lit on a Tuesday can feel completely different by Friday, and some of the city’s best parties actually happen long before the weekend even begins. 

I’ve come to realize that Hollywood doesn’t have just one (or two, or three) defining parties, it has seven different personalities; one for every night of the week. Every night offers a different crowd, a different soundtrack, and a different version of the city I thought I already knew.

After spending more night-outs in Hollywood than I’d like to admit (a true occupational hazard, but for research of course), I’ve developed a weekly rotation that rarely fails me. 

I don’t really decide where I’m going anymore, the day of the week simply decides for me. 

So if you happen to text me asking what the move is tonight, here’s what I’m probably going to say…

Monday: Poppy or Boardners

Mondays in Hollywood aren’t nearly as boring as you may think. 

If I’m looking to start my week with high energy and a splash of Hollywood glamour, I’m heading to Poppy. Their weekly My Mondays has become a staple for the people who seem to keep LA nightlife moving. From the creatives, hospitality regulars, and athletes, to the occasional celebrity who’s looking to go out without the typical weekend frenzy, Poppy always manages to make a Monday feel like the start of something other than just the work week.

When I want a night with a little more character, Boardners is the answer. Their Blue Mondays has become one of those rare Hollywood traditions that never feels dated, thanks to a soundtrack rooted in ’80s alternative and emo favorites in the main room. Step outside to the patio, and the vibe shifts with everything from ’70s disco and indie, to 2000s throwbacks. It’s refreshingly unpretentious in a city that often isn’t, attracting a crowd that knows exactly why they’re there.

Tuesday: Bar Lis or Keys

Tuesday nights in Hollywood never seem to miss. The crowds are more intentional, everyone actually wants to be there, and somehow the night feels more electric than the chaos brought on by the weekend.

If I’m craving good music backed by a little rooftop glamor, I’m making my way to Bar Lis. Signature Tuesdays transforms the rooftop with live performances from Jazz Eclectic LA and Gilles Signature, creating the kind of night where drinks turn into dancing without anyone thinking twice. Between the music, the city views, and the crowd, it’s one of those nights that reminds me why I’ll never get tired of the vibe Bar Lis brings. 

If I’m looking for something with a little more late-night energy, Keys has become a Tuesday staple thanks to its weekly Paris at Night House Tuesdays. It brings the kind of energy I want from a weeknight with house and EDM soundtracking a night that feels just as lively as a Saturday. Between the DJs, live performances, and occasionally unexpected surprise appearances throughout the night, there’s always something happening at Keys on a Tuesday. 

Wednesday: Warwick or Jungle Hollywood

If you ask people who actually live in LA, they’ll probably tell you Wednesday is one of the best nights to go out. The weekend crowds haven’t taken over yet, the locals and occasional celebrities are out, and there’s an energy in the air that makes hump-day feel anything but ordinary.

When I’m in the mood for a classic night out at the club, I’m heading to Warwick. Their weekly Wednesday party is all about high-energy and hip-hop bangers with resident and guest DJs keeping the dance floor packed all night. Between the VIP tables filled with LA tens, familiar industry faces, and lively crowd, it’s the kind of place where a Wednesday always feels like a weekend.

If I want my night to be a little more underground but still turned up, Jungle Hollywood is probably where I’ll go. Their weekly Clinic Wednesdays caters to the real house and techno crowd, pairing deep EDM sounds with a rotating Techno Night Market featuring local artists and vendors. Wednesdays at Jungle are one of nightlife’s most refreshing midweek escapes.

Thursday: No Vacancy or Bar Lis

Thursdays are like the unofficial beginning of the weekend. 

If the group chat is down for something a little playful, we’re heading to No Vacancy. While the bar inside the house always has its own charm, Thursday’s On The Deck is where the night really comes alive. The backyard patio transforms into your favorite house party, just with better music, better cocktails, and some of LA’s hottest DJs behind the decks. With live performances, rotating sets, and a crowd that knows how to turn a Thursday into a full night out, it has that effortless “everyone somehow ended up here” energy. I always tell myself I’ll stop by for one drink, only to realize hours later I’m still on the patio. 

On the other hand, Bar Lis‘ Out of Office Thursdays have become one of my favorite excuses to leave work on time. The rooftop fills with creatives, hospitality regulars, and industry friends who are all ready to trade laptops for cocktails and a little booty-shaking. These nights are always lively without feeling overwhelming, making it the perfect bridge between weekday happy hour and a full-blown weekend night.

Friday: Galerie on Sunset or Academy LA

Some Friday nights I’m looking for a packed dance floor and a late-night DJ set, and other nights I want to go somewhere that feels a little more effortless.

If I’m easing into the weekend, Galerie on Sunset is where you’ll find me. The Lounge at Galerie has become one of those Friday (and Saturday) night spots where the vibe is always the perfect amount of classy and lively, with a packed dance floor and attractive crowd. Once that shift from dinner to party starts, the DJ sets the mood as the restaurant transforms from a stylish cocktail lounge into a full-on dance floor with guests spilling between tables, dancing shoulder to shoulder. The crowd is somehow always filled with the kind of people who always know where the next good party is happening. It’s not quite a nightclub, but it has just enough energy and late-night buzz to keep you there all night. 

When I’m chasing a fun night out on a bigger scale, Academy LA is the move. Whether it’s house, techno, or a major artist taking over the room, weekends at Academy LA always feel like an experience rather than just another night out. The music, the crowd, and the scale of the venue make it the perfect choice when you’re ready to fully commit to the dance floor and stay out well past 2 a.m.

Saturday: Sunset at EDITION or Zouk LA

The weekend calls for all the options. 

Some nights I’m craving something a little glamorous, and that’s when you’ll catch me at Sunset at EDITION. The rooftop draws one of the city’s most stylish crowds with its effortlessly chic atmosphere that’s perfect for a Saturday night. My favorite part (of course) is the dance floor, where a ceiling covered in hundreds of glittering disco balls creates one of the best photo ops in LA nightlife. It’s the perfect mix of upscale and fun, making it one of those places that always feels like a night worth getting dressed up for.

When I really want to let loose, though, there’s almost no debate. I’m heading to Zouk LA. One thing about Zouk is that the weekends are always buzzing, regardless of who’s on the lineup. Sure, there are some nights with special events or guest DJs that take the energy up another level, but you can always count on the room being packed, the music being loud, and the crowd showing up ready for a real night out. 

Sunday: Delilah or The Room Hollywood

Sunday has secretly become one of my favorite nights to go out in Hollywood. Maybe it’s because the people who are out actually want to be out. Or maybe it’s because the weekend crowds have thinned, the tourists have gone home, and what’s left is a mix of industry regulars and true nightlife lovers squeezing every last drop out of the weekend.

Some Sundays call for Delilah. Their weekly Sunday Jazz Night is one of my favorite ways to spend an evening, with live musicians setting the tone as guests settle in over cocktails. Every time I’m here, I’m reminded of why Hollywood still does old-school glamour so well. As the night goes on, the vibe often shifts. The crowd inevitably drifts from their tables toward the dance floor, and what started as an elegant dinner quietly transforms into one of the classiest late-night parties in the city. 

Other Sundays, I’m probably ending the week at The Room Hollywood for Fayah Sundays. Known as one of LA’s go-to Caribbean nights, it’s where reggae and Afrobeats keep the dance floor moving. The energy is completely different from the polished dinner-party atmosphere at Delilah, but that’s exactly why I love having both options in my rotation. 

Whether I’m in the mood to sip cocktails in a frilly dress or shake my hips until 2 a.m., Sunday nights in Hollywood never disappoint.

The truth is, there isn’t one “best” nightlife spot in Hollywood. That’s what makes this city so much fun. The same venue can feel like two completely different places depending on the night, the crowd, and the DJ behind the booth. 

After enough late nights, I’ve learned that the real secret of nightlife isn’t knowing where to go, it’s knowing when to go.
