Welcome to our latest Beauty Beat! Here at Loop Magazine, we love to showcase our favorite artists and their go-to makeup routine. For this feature, we have country singer Casi Joy. She is a The Voice alum and last year released her first full length original album Miles and Maybe.
She is already working on her next project, and shared exclusively with us some of her favorite products as she gets ready to write some more songs in Nashville. Keep scrolling to see the joyful (non pun intended) and fiery redhead’s favorite beauty essentials that she shares in her video. From NYX Professional Cosmetics face items to a dazzling eyeshadow look through a Beauty Bakerie palette, Joy comes out looking effortlessly ready to take the country world by storm.

As Joy says herself, makeup wipes cause quite the controversy in the beauty world. However, she just can’t help herself with these. These cleansing towelettes include three rose extracts and are oil free. They are perfect for eczema prone and sensitive skin, advertising for their gentle cleansing and hydration qualities. They also set the stage for Joy’s makeup routine.
One of the best things about this product is that it is considered a “Conscious Beauty” at Ulta, meaning it is vegan, cruelty free and uses clean ingredients. They say one of the best things for makeup is having a hydrated base, and this helps do the trick through providing 48 hours worth of hydration, and it is alcohol free. The key ingredients of snow mushroom, hyaluronic acid, and elderflower water help boost the skin’s moisture by 35%.
Joy likes to apply her toner using these premium woven exfoliating pads. She says the absolute best ones are at Walmart, you can’t even find as good ones on Amazon. These hypoallergenic pads are both soft and exfoliating.
This essence includes 96% snail mucin that has the ability to help nourish, repair, and plump the skin. The clean ingredients of this product help improve overall skin radiance and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s dermatologist tested and also hypoallergenic. It’s perfect for all skin types but advertised to those who are struggling with dehydrated or aging skin.
The final step of Joy’s skin prepping routine is the all important SPF. She got this Laneige sunscreen for free, but it is definitely worth the price point. Not only does it have SPF 50, creating a good UV barrier for the skin, but it is also hydrating and smoothing as it is made with hydro-ionized mineral water. A challenge with sunscreen includes the finish it leaves, but this one does not leave behind a white cast, making it the perfect base. Plus, if you already have irritated skin, it has smoothing properties with its centella asiatica.
Moving on to makeup, Joy creates a base using the e.l.f Flawless Satin Foundation. She mixes two shades, and it is easy for one to do this themselves or find a singular shade that works for them as there are 40 available that take into account different undertones. This foundation is easily blendable and also hydrating through its key ingredient of glycerin. The Flawless Satin Foundation is medium to full coverage. This product is vegan and cruelty free and also made in a fair-trade territory.
This palette allows you to go simple with a matte look or add some extra shimmer on the days you are feeling it. Its best perks are that it is highly pigmented, easily buildable and blendable as well as long lasting. Joy uses only this palette to create her entire eye look, showing how versatile it is. Just like how it gets Joy through her songwriting sessions, it will get you through any occasion you have. This product is also cruelty free.
This is a concealer that can do it all! It is advertised to tackle dark under eyes, acne and redness. It provides 24 hour hydration and is Vegan and cruelty free. It provides medium coverage and has the nourishing ingredients of tremella mushroom, cica, and green tea. It also feels lightweight on the skin.
To bring some shadows back into the face, Joy uses the Wonder Stick. This Vegan and Cruelty Free product is advertised as easily blendable and Joy can attest to that saying sometimes she needs to use two layers for how well it absorbs into the skin. It is meant to give a natural sunlit glow, perfect for both beginners and experts.
Thick brows are coming back in style, and it can easily be achieved with this product. This thickening gel is great for styling brows and giving them some extra love. It holds for up to 16 hours and has a formula that prevents smudging, flaking or any transfers.
Joy could not rave enough about the Lash Princess mascara. This cruelty free product has a conical shaped mascara brush that provides both length and volume, creating a false lash effect. It is also free of oils, parabens and fragrance.
NARS is known for their unhinged names, which Joy quickly learned when she saw the title, “Orgasm X” on her pinky blush. Regardless of the shade names, the NARS blush does not disappoint. The award winning product is known for giving a healthy glow. It is highly pigmented, has a silky formula that makes it blendable and it’s very buildable with other products.
Joy tops off her makeup look with a pink shade from NYX’s Milky Gloss. This vegan, cruelty-free product is not only hydrating but also is meant to smell and taste like a milkshake. It’s buildable so one can go for a single swipe or create a little more pigment with a couple movements of the wand.
