Blumarine: Fashion that Flirts with the Ultra-Feminine

I can picture this sexy skirt set for a girls dinner with a view….

Daylight savings has kicked in, and even though night is arriving earlier than ever, I’m already thinking about Spring – specifically, Spring Fashion which shows off my legs and stomach. While I’ve long been a fan of fashion houses like Alexander Wang or Issey Miyake, for me, the surprise show-stealer of the SS22 runways shows was Blumarine. Revitalizing trends like micro skirts and low-rise pants, this brand showed up to Fashion Week with a palette of pastels and flowing fabrics all of which I want to own.

I could literally feel the return of the 1990s and early 2000s as I scrolled through runway photos; the butterfly accents reminded me of clips I put in my hair when I was merely 11 years old. The idea of recreating these looks with a fashion-forward flare is a dream come true. The first item I have my eye on is their baby pink daisy dukes. For me, these feel like everyday wear during warm months and could be paired with sandals and a tank for a casual look, or platforms and a blouse for a day event. While these may seem simple, the cut and color – especially when set against summer tans – are sure to make a statement: girly-girl gone super sexy.

I’ve always been a fan of adding some 60s and 70s vibes to a modern silhouette, creating a neo-hippy moment, and I would love to don their fringe, floral co-ord. . . like for my summer birthday, for example. I can picture this sexy skirt set for a girls dinner with a view – think Malibu at sunset – or even on a romantic baecation for a sultry dinner near the sand – think Tulum with your new crush. In case it wasn’t already evident by my choices, I do love to wear pink, and it’s fun to follow a fashion house that leans into this color without fear.

While I’ll be waiting for these runway looks to drop, their website also includes some currently-shoppable pieces that I’m feigning for. The Bell Bottoms Jeans in Printed Cotton look like watercolor on denim, a captivating design that is both unique and universally wearable. These would go with literally any top in my closet, and I can picture paring them with darker hues for winter, or bright crop tops for sunny days. Cut low rise with a wide flare, these jeans are on-trend because of their retro reinvention.

Bluemarine gives no reason to dress in black and neutrals just because there’s a chill in the air. Their selection of outerwear – from cardigans to coats – remains true to their overall aesthetic: feminine, fresh, floral, or printed while using soft and vibrant colors.

A true luxury brand, Bluemarine pieces are worth the splurge. Adding just an item or two to your closet could transform your wardrobe. With the ability to literally sort your online shopping by ‘Surprising Flowerings’, ‘Ruffles’, or ‘Flares’ this brand is meant for the Spring. So spruce up your seasonal looks with the effortlessly effeminate designs that dazzled this year’s runways and need to find their next home!
