Cinespia Returns To Hollywood Forever Cemetery: Movies Under The Stars

LA’s First and Longest Running Outdoor Movie Series Continues This Summer….

It’s no secret that Los Angeles is the world capital for movies. From star-studded premieres to endless award shows, Tinseltown is unmatched when it comes to big screen events. But ask any real Angeleno and they’ll tell you the coolest movie going experience by far is a Cinespia screening at Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Back for its 22nd season, presented by Amazon Studios, the Los Angeles based organization has long been famous for bringing movie magic to life among the dead. What began with a screening of “Strangers on a Train” for a few hundred people has become a L.A. institution, hosting hundreds of thousands of moviegoers on the cemetery’s famed Fairbanks Lawn.

Now the most popular outdoor cinema event in Southern California, welcoming up to 4,000 moviegoers per night, Cinespia guests are invited to bring their own blankets, food, and drinks (including beer and wine), before settling in under the stars for a classic (and sometimes campy) cinematic experience. Every screening also features world class DJ talent to keep the crowd buzzing before and after the main event and film-themed photobooth activations.

This summer, the Hollywood Forever screenings will kick off with “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” on June 17, in partnership with LA Pride. Other blockbusters on the schedule include “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure” with an accompanying Fourth of July weekend fireworks show, “Fight Club,” “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion,” “Gremlins” and “Valley Girl.”

Cinespia also hosts dazzling screenings under the stars at other iconic venues including The Greek Theatre and the Los Angeles Historic Park.

“It is with great excitement that we unveil our lineup of screenings for the remainder of June and throughout July at LA State Historic Park and the Hollywood Forever Cemetery,” said Cinespia founder John Wyatt. “We’re thrilled to be back once again at the Cemetery with some incredible classics under the stars and amongst the spirits of Hollywood legends.”

An exclusive new partnership with Tony’s Chocolonely will also make Cinespia’s 2023 season a little sweeter. Their limited-edition, custom-wrapped collaboration chocolate bar designed by Cinespia’s creative director, Alia Penner, is filled with their popular and irresistible “Everything Bar” flavor and will be exclusively available to guests at concessions. The brand will also be onsite creating special moments at select screenings all season long, with chocolate at the ready to sample and share with guests.
