Get Glam with Jacqui
- A nightlife makeup routine by Jacqueline Hillman
Because who doesn’t want a glamorous night out…
A night out in LA means you gotta bring the drama – not literally, but definitely with your look.
Makeup inspo is pretty easy to find with all the Tiktok and IG reels, and there are so many viral products out there, that it’s hard to tell what actually works until you try it for yourself. While I don’t have a massive collection of makeup, there are some products that I find myself reaching for whenever I want to create a truly glamorous look for a night out.
Part of the fun of going out is getting ready while sipping on a cocktail or two and listening to your fave party mix, basically prepping yourself for the amazing night to come. So, after spending an hour or so sitting around in a towel and obsessing over what to wear (by the way, does anyone else do this, or is it just me?), I’m finally in the mood to primp for a look that focuses on eyes that pop, bold lips, and a glowy, sculpted face.
Here are some of my staples for creating a glam night out look!
Skin Prep
So important! You really want to make sure your base is as clean and smooth as possible; it will make the whole process of layering the products on that much easier. Clean, apply serums and moisturize to make sure your skin is properly hydrated. Don’t forget your eye cream too!
Primer
ILIA True Skin Radiant Priming Serum
After moisturizing I apply Ilia’s True Skin Radiant Priming Serum, it’s free of silicones, fragrances, and oils so it fits perfectly with the clean beauty routine. It also has a tightening effect which reduces pores and fine lines and provides a flawless surface.
Eyes
Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette
I do my eyes first so that if I have some fallout from the eyeshadow, I know I’m not messing up well-set foundation. I love this palette, it’s super pigmented and has just the right amount of shimmer which is perfect for creating any glam look.
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner
Staying with the dramatic eyes theme, this liner is a favorite for a reason. I use it to create the perfect cat eye, it easily glides across my skin and stays put. It’s waterproof too, just in case!
Brows
REFY Brow Sculpt Shape and Hold Gel with Lamination Effect
Moving up to the brows – it’s definitely a feature that should not be missed. I use the Refy Brow Sculpt to shape my brows with Jess Hunt’s method of brushing up and out to create a full look.
Foundation
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
I like a dewy look for my foundation, so even though I have a few foundations lying around, I always find myself reaching for my GA Luminous Silk Foundation. I apply it with my beauty blender, and it is easily buildable to provide medium to full coverage.
Contour
Mario SoftSculpt Shaping Stick
It’s all the rage with so many tutorials, reels, and TikTok videos to get lost in. I used to be a just-a-bit-of-bronzer girl, but for a real glam look, you need to contour. I use Mario’s SoftSculpt on areas that will lift my face: temples, under cheekbones, nose, and along the jawline. Creamy and buildable with a matte finish, the dual-ended design makes it easy to apply and blend out with the brush.
Highlight
Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlight
This highlight gives the perfect touch-up highlights wherever I need it. It’s perfect for that dewy glow I’m going for, and it melts into the skin. I use it to highlight my cheekbones, nose, and cupid bow.
Lips
Fenty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer
After applying my lipstick, I like to keep my lips hydrated with Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb; it’s full of shea butter and really highlights your lips. An oldie but a goodie.
Setting Spray
Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
After I’m all done with my routine, I gotta lock it up in place with this setting spray. Hold a few inches from your face and spritz all over. It gives a dew effect and helps with that natural glow I want to achieve.
