Goodtime Hotel: A Stylish Stay
- Hotel review by Sophia Rahimi / Photography by Alice Gao
The Goodtime attracts a more youthful crowd, which makes it perfect for networking, especially if you are traveling alone.
The aesthetic at Goodtime Hotel is one of a kind. I jetted to Miami to get a behind-the-scenes view of Swim Week for Loop Magazine this summer, and the minute I walked through the entrance and into the lobby, I was in awe of the beautifully adorned space filled with art deco furnishings, which created a retro aesthetic. Located at the heart of downtown South Beach just minutes away from the sand, restaurants, nightclubs (and, lucky for me, the week’s fashion shows), this venue has a unique, joyous feel that – no question – is derivative of its founders.
The hotel is the first collaborative lifestyle brand by Pharrel Williams and David Grutman, so lively energy and positivity abound. The cozy rooms are tasteful with pink accents and golden rimmed furniture. The third floor holds the hotel’s biggest attractions, including the Strawberry Moon restaurant and pool. Boasting a vibrant vintage vibe, the restaurant’s glamorous bar hosts happy hour from 4-7 every day of the week where guests can enjoy $8 specialty cocktails. The space is huge with both lounge chairs and daybeds. Cabanas are available with bottle service in isolated sections as well and the pool hosts some of Miami’s most iconic parties. But drinking and parties are only part of this location’s allure. You can find a luxurious gym featuring MyBeast and Peloton equipment as well as a very stylish library. For the literary lovers or collectors, this artful stop is full of vintage books, ornate décor, and funky couches. Goodtime Hotel also hosts special events on certain days of the week, such as karaoke night every Tuesday, Comedy Night in the library every Wednesday, and fitness classes every Saturday in the gym. Though the hotel is still new and in the building process, rumors whisper that there will soon be even more to see, including a nightclub and retail division.
The entire hotel is very ‘instagramable,’ a great spot to get your flicks off. The pool can be reserved for media purposes, so if you are planning a summer collection campaign shoot or recording a music video, Strawberry Moon has the backdrop for you. Goodtime Hotel attracts a more youthful crowd, which makes it perfect for networking, especially if you are traveling alone. Many of Miami’s finest influencers, creators, and socialites fill the space and make sure to get their content. And trust me, you want to be one of them!
