The Perfect Gamble’s U.S. premiere hit LA with grit, glamour, and a high-stakes edge, drawing Danny A. Abeckaser, David Arquette, Daniella Pick Tarantino and Quentin Tarantino for a night that dealt a winning hand.
Hollywood played its cards right on Wednesday night as Danny A. Abeckaser’s The Perfect Gamble made its U.S. premiere at the Harmony Gold Theatre, drawing a polished crowd of industry regulars, cast and crew members, emerging talent, and collaborators of Abeckaser.
The film’s stars, including David Arquette, Daniella Pick Tarantino, director Danny A. Abeckaser, Dean Miroshnikov, and Herzl Tobey mingled throughout the crowd alongside producers and familiar faces such as Quentin Tarantino, Katie Cassidy, and Moran Atias.
Presented by 2B Films with Saban Films, The Perfect Gamble transported the audience into the world of two ex-cons, Charlie (Arquette) and Felix (Abeckaser), running an illegal underground casino in the country of Georgia while becoming a rising threat to the Russian mafia. There’s action, there’s romance, and there’s a thrill that had everyone on the edge of their seats throughout the entire screening.
Before the lights dimmed and the big screen lit up, guests enjoyed a pre-reception featuring cocktails, drinks, and small bites by El Cristiano Tequila, Acqua Panna Water, Doctors Orders Wines, and Golden Reserve Caviar.
Inspired by the films Casino and Ocean’s Eleven, Abeckaser wanted to put his own twist on these cult classics with The Perfect Gamble. “I love those films, and this was our version,” Abeckaser said during the post-screening Q&A. “I wanted to do something a little different than all the other films I’ve made, and I’m very proud of it.”
For Daniella Pick Tarantino, who plays Sonia, The Perfect Gamble marks her debut in a U.S. feature film. With a breakout performance that drew a warm applause from the audience, she shared, “It’s my first film, my first Q&A, first everything. I really felt it on screen. I miss Sonia and Charlie. We had such a good time filming this.” Her husband, Quentin Tarantino, was in attendance to support her milestone moment.
From the adrenaline-inducing storyline to Lionel Cohen’s pulsing original score, The Perfect Gamble delivered high-stakes tension and slick charm, all filtered through Abeckaser’s visionary edge. It’s the type of film that tempts you toward a whiskey neat and the illusion that you could outplay the room.
As the credits rolled, the audience erupted in applause before the cast and crew took the stage for a candid Q&A. Arquette praised both his longtime collaborator, Abeckaser, and his co-stars: “Working with Danny is always a joy. And with Daniella, this is her first film and I’m so impressed. You can feel her heart in every scene.”
The Perfect Gamble’s debut captured a cinematic thrill that felt both intimate and distinctly Hollywood, proving what Abeckaser set out to create: an engaging crime thriller with just enough grit to keep you leaning in. It was a night that reminded everyone in the room that when the stakes are high and the vision is clear, the gamble is always worth it.
