Hottest Hotel Bars

Here’s where to go and grab a drink this Fall. . .

For grown and sexy singles, hotel bars are a great place to mix and mingle. Business travelers unwind after a long day, solo vacationers are looking for conversation, and weddings in adjacent ballrooms often spill into the bar scene. Fall is cuffin’ season, after all, and September is certainly upon us. Los Angeles boasts some of the hottest hotel bars from the coast to I-605, and in true West Coast fashion, their cocktail venues are visually stunning and bubbling with ambiance. If this sounds like your nightlife scene, check out my list of favorites:

The swanky pool-side scene at Sunset Tower Hotel is celeb-filled on most nights. While sipping delicious cocktails (I recommend the Espresso Martini), you can catch a glimpse of Hollywood’s favorites, like Sophia Vergara. The food is delicious and live music fills open-air dining room. You’ll definitely need an advanced reservation for this one.

Come bikini-clad and prepare for some of the best music in Los Angeles. The pool bar at The Mondrian is one of the sexiest summer scenes in the city, but the party persists all year long. You can opt for bottle service, or just join the fun while listening to some of the best, up-and-coming local DJs.

If you’ve been following along, you know this rooftop bar is my go-to. From a delectable menu (my must order is the Crab Nachos) to seriously stunning views, this is a great place to catch the sunset or watch the city lights sparkle after dark. While reservations are required for a table along the glass railing, you can usually sidle up to the bar as you please.

Shutters on the Beach is hands down one of the most beautiful venues in the city, and the step-into-the-sand location doesn’t hurt either. Their bar & restaurant is a highly coveted reservation, but well worth planning ahead. They offer extensive menus for every meal of the day, and a large list of drink options. Try the El Paraiso, which puts a bitter edge on a sweet rum cocktail.

If you’re looking for an exquisite experience, this is your desired destination. Angel statues adorn the granite bar at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel and comfortable couches provide late-night leisure in the Cognac Room. Flatbreads are a favorite here to set a solid base for a night of delightful cognac cocktails.

In my opinion, the restaurant at the Malibu Beach Inn is wildly under-recommended. The restaurant overhangs the sea (you can snag a Nobu-style IG pic), the margaritas are top notch, and all the food on the menu hits! Not to mention, the price point beats any of the other ocean front restaurants, but the ambiance holds up. Add this to your must-visit list!
