Jameson brought J Balvin, KidSuper, Wisdom Kaye and NYC’s coolest crowd to Williamsburg for a soccer-inspired nightlife event.

There are two things the nightlife world desperately needed this summer: more soccer culture in New York nightlife and more whiskey brands throwing actually cool parties. Thankfully, Jameson Irish Whiskey understood the assignment.

On May 6 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, more than 300 guests gathered to celebrate Jameson’s latest collaboration with global music icon J Balvin, creative visionary Colm Dillane of KidSuper Studios, and the whiskey brand’s growing partnership as the Official Whiskey of Major League Soccer for its new “It’s What You Bring” campaign.

And honestly? It felt less like a branded activation and more like the kind of cultural moment New York has been missing lately.

Celebrating the fans, friendships, and communities at the center of soccer culture, the night kicked off with a five-a-side rooftop pitch playoff commentated by former MLS star Maurice Edu and comedian Alexis Guerreros, while DJ Rae kept the energy high throughout the evening and played plenty of songs by my beloved Drake. Guests also got an exclusive first look at the highly anticipated Jameson x KidSuper capsule collection (which you can shop below) before its official release.

The fashion crowd alone could have powered the entire night. VIP attendees included Liza Koshy, Valentina Ferrer, Christian James Madsen, Denzel Dion, Jimmy Butler, and of course, Wisdom Kaye, whose presence immediately raised the room’s cool factor by at least 200 percent.

Seeing Wisdom Kaye in person felt especially fitting given the overall vibe of the event. Between the tailored sportswear, vintage jerseys, leather jackets, and elevated streetwear looks, the crowd looked like a live-action Pinterest board for modern soccer nightlife style.

Then came the surreal moment of the night: meeting J Balvin.

J Balvin, The global superstar, who fronts the campaign’s hero film, spent the evening mingling with guests and bringing an effortless energy to the room. His partnership with Jameson explores how music, fashion, nightlife, and soccer culture naturally collide, and after seeing the atmosphere firsthand, it completely made sense. Nothing about the event felt overly polished or performative. It felt culturally aware in a way branded nightlife events rarely do anymore.

The deeper message behind “It’s What You Bring” is what actually makes the campaign work. Jameson is spotlighting the rituals, style, friendships, music, and individuality fans contribute to soccer culture far beyond the 90 minutes on the pitch. And in New York, where nightlife, fashion, and sports culture constantly overlap, the concept lands naturally.

It also helps that Jameson seems to understand something many alcohol brands don’t: people are craving experiences again. Not influencer dinners. Not empty photo ops. Actual community.

For once, a whiskey-sponsored event didn’t feel stale or predictable. It felt alive.

Ironically, the activation worked so well that in the nights following the event, I found myself ordering Jameson instead of my usual Jack Daniel’s while out. A subtle plot twist nobody, including myself, saw coming. But after spending an evening immersed in the brand’s world of soccer, music, nightlife, and fashion, it kind of made sense.

The campaign did exactly what good branding is supposed to do: it created association, atmosphere, and memory.

As soccer culture continues exploding across the United States ahead of next summer’s global tournament, expect more nightlife crossover moments like this. Between celebrity ambassadors, fashion collaborations, MLS partnerships, and community-focused activations, Jameson is positioning itself directly at the center of the modern soccer lifestyle conversation.

And based on the energy in Williamsburg this week, they might be onto something.
