This is what happens when one of Los Angeles’ most favorited restaurants teams up with one of the leading brands in streetwear. This new collaboration between Nobu and KITH debuted at KITH Air show during New York Fashion Week, as KITH founder Ronnie Fieg continues to break boundaries in not only the fashion industry but entertainment and hospitality as well.

Established in 2011, KITH operates on two planes – a multifunctional lifestyle brand for both men and women, and a progressive retail establishment. … We offer an array of premium products, ranging from our own in-house label to a curated selection of multi-brand apparel and footwear.

The collection with the Japanese restaurant group consists of 17 items inspired by Nobu’s renowned cooking style and presentation. Pieces include new styles in the Quilted Coaches Jacket featuring diamond-puff embroidery and Japanese and American flags on the left sleeve. The Quarter-Zip Collared Shirt, on the other hand, showcases Sakura cherry blossom and koi fish all-over print patterns. With fall quickly approaching, consumers can choose between co-branded short-sleeve and long-sleeve tees, hoodies, and KITH x Nobu x New Era hats.

Speaking to GQ, Fiegs reveals what fueled this collab. “It’s really an incredible time for Kith as a brand and where we are and how far we’ve come in eight years — just the ability to be able to work with some of the most influential and important businesses of our time. What I’m influenced by are creators and founders of worlds more so than brands. So growing up it’s always what I admired most about Tommy [Hilfiger] and Ralph [Lauren], which was my entrance into— I wouldn’t call it a fashion world — I’ll call it the universe of products.”

It was in 1995 when Nobu first opened, as a 13-year-old Ronnie began working in New York City. His first experience dining at Nobu was unforgettable, as was his visits thereafter. He states, “Throughout the years what Nobu has become is a lot more than a sushi restaurant. What Kith stands for as a brand is a lot more than just product, so I think there are a lot of similarities there to where Nobu has a sense of luxury.”

In addition to the influence that Nobu had on Ronnie’s own career, he gives an example of how incredibly talented chef Nobu-san was, and how he’s able to transcend the luxurious life through Nobu specifically. Ronnie doesn’t just eat at the restaurant, he takes all his meetings there — calling it his second home.

Now with this new collab, he hopes people can consume Nobu through KITH’s lens and created a whole new world with how they handle top-quality products. Shop the collection here!
