West Hollywood's Doheny Room, popular with A-listers G Eazy, Miley Cyrus, Miguel and more, used the nationwide closure to launch a full renovation.

Now more than ever, having something to look forward to is so important, and thanks to sbe’s Doheny Room, we have an exciting unveiling to anticipate. When the city allows nightlife to reopen, the lounge that’s called West Hollywood home for four years will debut a refreshed design, complete with the first Krispy Rice outpost in Los Angeles.

“Doheny Room is a must destination in West Hollywood, and I am very happy to announce its full redesign by our own design and development team led by Joe Faust and his Dakota Development team,” says sbe founder and CEO Sam Nazarian.

While other local hotspots, such as Delilah and Beauty & Essex, looked for ways to pivot to outdoor dining, Doheny Room has remained closed in order to take the necessary time to execute a large renovation that was already in the works prior to the pandemic.

When you go, make sure to look up at the four-foot gold disco ball strung above the bi-level courtyard, which boasts semi-circular booths upholstered in plush peacock blue velvet complemented by deco-patterned wallpaper. Gallery walls are adorned with images of Hollywood icons and works by artists Spencer Guilburt, Nicolas Corradi and Vika Petlakh.

New to the venue is an eight-seat sushi bar called Krispy Rice, born from the beloved Katsuya’s signature Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. The intimate setting offers handrolls, maki rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and of course variations of krispy rice topped with everything from king salmon and yuzu to plant-based truffle avocado.

Racey photos from Nick Corradi and Vika Petlakh on the second floor compete with the mesmerizing disco ball for attention. Now at eye level, the massive installation is the focal point for those occupying mod teal banquettes. Tropical wallpaper works with the LED lighting to create an immersive visual experience.

If you can’t wait to see Doheny Room’s full renovation, tide yourself over by ordering a beautiful sushi bento box from Krispy Rice using DoorDash, GrubHub, Postmates and Uber Eats.
