The number one thing I look forward to when coming home from a long trip is hitting up all of my favorite restaurants again with friends. Unfortunately, my most recent return home was timed perfectly with the beginning of COVID-19 quarantine and social distancing. So I decided that once all of the groceries have finally been depleted from my fridge, it would be time to treat myself to takeout—and you should do the same. Light some candles, put on a sexy black dress, fire up that favorite dinner-music playlist and take yourself out on a date in that dining room you barely use. The Nice Guy
Serving up fine Italian cuisine in a vintage-styled interior, The Nice Guy in West Hollywood has all of your favorite classics like Margherita pizza and meatballs. Using homemade and fresh ingredients makes even the simplest dishes like the Cacio e Pepe taste so damn good, the way Italian food should be. In terms of takeout, the go-to menu item to order is definitely pizza, which currently comes 30% off for takeout orders. Also located in West Hollywood and part of The h.wood Group, Delilah offers a mixture of classic and modern American dishes. Bathed in hues of sophisticated pinks, the dining area has successfully revived the roaring 20’s with its Art Deco characteristics and occasional jazz nights. The dinner menu ranges from shrimp cocktail and lobster gnocchi for appetizers to braised New York strip for an entree and sides like potatoes gratin and mac n’ cheese. For takeout, try ordering the Roasted Chicken with glazed carrots and haricot verts or dive into your comfort food cravings with a hamburger (classic or vegetarian) or a grilled cheese and tomato bisque. Curbside pickup is actually available at The Nice Guy, just a five-minute drive from Delilah. Katsuya
Katsuya is an upscale and elegant sushi restaurant whose brand can also be found internationally in places like Dubai and Bahrain. Within LA County, Katsuya has locations in Brentwood, Hollywood, and Glendale. Currently, a special curbside pickup menu is now available for $49.95 per person which includes seven small appetizers and an entree, and if you call in your order, an extra 20% off. Some of the menu items include baked crab cut roll, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño, and miso-marinated black cod. The regular menu is also still available for takeout. All orders include chopsticks, napkins, soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger. You can get a taste of this purely fresh Japanese cuisine through delivery as well by ordering with your favorite app.
Petite Taqueria
Arguably the best food on earth, Mexican grub can never disappoint, especially at Petite Taqueria in West Hollywood. This classy Mexican joint offers a variety of authentic and yet creative entrees like steak quesadillas, enchiladas, burritos…and of course tacos. This impressive establishment has some of the best backyard barbecue around, especially since the mastermind behind the scene, Burt Bakman has spent years perfecting the art of smoking meat right within the Lone Star State. Some of the hottest menu items include a full rack of ribs, brisket and pulled pork, including beer and wine all of which are perfect options for takeout (amazing in sandwiches).
