Halloween is creeping around the corner, but this year, skip the tricks and imbibe in some BOOzy treats. Whether you are having a scary movie night in or busting out your moves to “Monster Mash,” spine-tingling cocktails can spice up any celebration.

Vampire Bite

Sink your teeth into Dracula’s go-to drink from Casamigos. The the terrifying tequila cocktail include fresh lime juice, simple syrup, a fresno chili slick and cilantro for kick and finished off with a gory red honey blood drip.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Casamigos Blanco Tequila
  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 0.75 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 Fresno Chili Slice
  • 8-10 Cilantro Leaves
  • Garnish Food Grade Red Dye Honey Blood Drip* and Vampire Fangs

*To create Red Dye Honey – Pour approximately 2 oz of honey into a medium bowl or plate and add 1-2 drops of food grade red dye, and stir well with spoon until evenly colored. Keep at room temperature for best mixability.

Method: Roll upper portion of martini glass in food grade red dye honey and swirl until coating the entire rim of glass. Then slowly spin glass at an angle and let red honey drip down exterior wall of glass. Combine all ingredients into tin shaker. Muddle cilantro and fresno chili, add ice and shake vigorously, then fine strain into rocks glass. Add fresh ice and garnish.

Halloween in Key West, Fla. is full of spirited fun and the Nail in the Coffin found at the Marquesa Hotel surely appeals to the dark and mysterious. If there was ever a cocktail perfect for celebrating Allhallows Eve, this layered one is it! With its range of flavors and garnishments of festive décor, the Nail in the Coffin is not only delicious but fun to look at!

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz Orange Juice
  • 0.50 oz Solerno Bloog Orange Liqueur
  • 0.50 oz Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur
  • 2 oz SKYY Vodka
  • Halloween treat of choice for garnish

Method: Pour the orange juice into a glass. Add the Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur and stir. In a separate glass, mix the Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur and SKYY Vodka together. Pour the Mr. Black and vodka mixture over a spoon to layer the drink. Garnish with a Halloween treat of your choice.

Poison Apple Spice

Embrace the season’s flavors with this sensational sip! The gin-based Poison Apple Spice cocktail is the perfect accessory and a sweet addition to any spooky night.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Bombay Sapphire
  • 0.5 oz MARTINI Rosso Vermouth
  • 0.5 oz Bottlegreen Spiced Berry cordial
  • 0.5 oz cloudy apple juice

Method: Place all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with plenty of cubed ice. Shake well for 15 seconds, or until the outside of the shaker is frosted. Fine strain into a chilled coupette or Martini cocktail glass.

3:30 AM

What sets it apart is the attention to detail, featuring a house-made black sesame salt rim that adds an extra layer of flavor and allure. For an added touch of allure, the concoction is complete with dry ice, creating a hauntingly beautiful presentation. Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Corazon Blanco Tequila

Method: Combine all ingredients and stir/shake together, then pour over dry ice and garnish with spooky items of choice.

The Madison Hotel in the heart of Washington, D.C. has some enchanting experiences brewing up this Halloween season, from wickedly delightful themed cocktails in the hauntingly stylish bar to eerie yet elegant decor throughout the hotel. While indulging in a ghoulishly glamorous getaway, try The Ghoulley Madison libation, a bewitched beverage to get you into the spooky season.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Premium Vodka
  • 1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 oz Pomegranate Juice
  • 1 Maraschino Cherry

Method: Add Vodka, Lemon Juice and Simple Syrup to a Shaker with Ice. Shake until well chilled. Strain into a martini glass. “Sink” Pomegranate juice by pouring slowly over the back of a spoon down side of glass add a spooky cherry garnish.

Stormin’ Sailor

Get nauti this Halloween with Sailor Jerry’s dark party drink, the Stormin’ Sailor. This freakishly fun treat is mixed with lemon-lime soda and cranberry juice, then topped off with black food dye, sugar sprinkles and dry ice for extra credit.

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
  • 1 mini can of Lemon-Lime Soda
  • 3 parts Cranberry Juice
  • Black Food Gel
  • Dry Ice
  • Sugar Sprinkles

Method: Wet rim of glass with a bit of lemon-lime soda, then dip rim in sugar sprinkles. In sugar-rimmed glass, combine Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, lemon-lime soda, cranberry juice and a very small amount of black food gel. Using tongs or while wearing thick gloves, place a small piece of dry ice into the glass. Wait for dry ice to completely dissolve in your cocktail, so as to not risk burning your mouth or throat.

Skullchata

Perfect for cozying up by the fire at the Ranch or snuggling up for a spooky movie marathon at home, this fall take on a horchata contains sweet notes of vanilla rum, Rumchata, and cream, mixed with the signature taste of fall with Fireball, cinnamon, and pumpkin spice. Topped with whipped cream, this haunting horchata is sure to satisfy a sweet tooth and get you in the Halloween spirit.

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz Rumchata
  • 0.25 oz Vanilla Rum
  • 0.25 oz Fireball Cinnamon Whisky
  • 1 oz Sweet Cream (can substitute with half & half)
  • 0.5 oz Pumpkin Spice Syrup
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Cinnamon Stick
  • Whipped Cream 

Method: Pour Rumchata, vanilla rum, Fireball, cream, pumpkin spice syrup, into a shaker and add three dashes of cinnamon. Shake well. Strain over ice into a festive mug and garnish with whipped cream, a dash of cinnamon and a cinnamon stick.

Pumpkin Potion

Let the flickering flames of the jack-o’-lantern guide your sips through a thrilling, pumpkin-spiced night. This handsome whiskey-based concoction is definitely not for basic witches.

Ingredients

*Pumpkin Spiced Syrup:

  • Boil the pumpkin flesh to soften (I part pumpkin, 3 pars hot water).
  • Mash the softened pumpkin.
  • Add equal weight in honey and double weight of water to pumpkin. Mix well.
  •  Simmer over a low heat with spices (1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon) for 15-20 minutes until all ingredients are mixed well and have a syrup-like texture.

Method: Add Teeling Whiskey, Pumpkin Spice Syrup and Hot Water to an Irish Coffee glass and stir gently. Add cinnamon stick and/or lemon wedge with cloves.

White Witch

Created by Trader Vic’s, this tropical rum-based sipper is as refreshing as it it is festive.
  • 1 oz Silver Rum 
  • 0.5 oz Cointreau 
  • 0.5 oz White Crème de Cacao 
  • 0.5  oz Lime Squeeze (save spent lime shell) 
  • Top with Club Soda 

Method: Build in 12-ounce glass over ice cubes. Add the Rum, Cointreau, White Crème de  Cacao, Squeeze Lime. Top with Club Soda and Stir. Garnish with Sprig Fresh Mint, Spent Lime Shell and dust with a little bar sugar.

Morgue-a-rita

This spooky season, the National Hockey League is getting in the Halloween spirit with the Morgue-a-rita available at three NHL arenas. Aptly named as player send their opponents “to the morgue,”  this spine-chilling concoction is a spooky spin on a premium margarita with a black salt rim and activated charcoal for a dark complexion. Hockey fans and patrons can find the beverage at retailers this fall, including 1928 Club, Legends and Harborview at TD Garden in Boston, New Amsterdam Bar and Lexus Club at KeyBank Center in Buffalo and at Patron Carts and the Suites Mixology Cart at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Camarena Silver Tequila
  • 0.5 oz Grand Marnier
  • 1.25 oz Finest Call Margarita Mix
  • 0.75 oz Agave Nectar
  • Dash Activated Charcoal
  • Garnish: Black Salt, Lime Wedge

Method: Rim glass with Black Salt and set aside. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain over fresh ice in Black Salt-rimmed glass. Garnish and serve.

Method: Combine all ingredients and stir together, then “inject” into the IV Bags for serving.

Winter’s Bane

The alchemists at Pink House Alchemy crafted this scarily delicious Winter Bane cocktail just in time for the spookiest time of the year. This dark drink uses activated charcoal for an extra festive touch.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Plymouth Gin⁠
  • 0.5 oz pH Ginger Syrup⁠
  • 0.5 oz Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao⁠
  • 1 Egg White⁠
  • 0.25 oz Fresh Lemon Juice⁠
  • Splash of Lemon La Croix ⁠
  • 1/2 Capsule of Activated Charcoal
  • Dehydrated Blood Orange Slice

Method: Stir together gin, lemon, syrup, and empty the contents of a charcoal capsule. Strain onto fresh ice. ⁠Dry shake egg white and Curaçao – layer over the cocktail. ⁠Add a bit of Lemon La Croix Bubbles to raise the drink. ⁠Garnish with a dehydrated blood orange slice.

Spiced Pumpkin Miracle

Created by Luis Lopez, Milagro Tequila West Coast Ambassador, the Spiced Pumpkin Miracle is a frothy festive treat made with tequila, lemon juice, orgeat and pumpkin puree.

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Milagro Reposado
  • 1 part Lemon Juice
  • 1 part Orgeat (Liquid Alchemist)
  • 1 part Pumpkin Puree
  • Garnish: Smoked Cinnamon Stick, 2 Star Anise

Method: Add all ingredients to shakers, shake for 10 seconds to allow all ingredients to dissolve. Finally strain into a tall glass with fresh ice, garnish and enjoy

Children Of The Candy Corn

Candy Corn is Halloween staple and this cocktail perfect way to indulge yourself with this timeless flavor in a more…refined way. Combining butterscotch, maple syrup, and even pumpkin with El Silencio‘s Mezcal Espadin, this creepy cocktail might be the perfect way to celebrate spooky season.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Mezcal El Silencio Espadin
  • 1 oz Smucker’s Butterscotch Syrup
  • 1 oz Pumpkin Puree
  • 0.75 oz Maple Syrup
  • 1 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1 Whole Organic Egg

Method: Place all ingredients except the egg inside a shaker tin. Stir all of the ingredients together until they are incorporated evenly. Add the whole egg to the shaker tin. Place a spring or protein shaker ball inside the shaker tin. Dry shake the ingredients (don’t add ice) vigorously for 30 seconds. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for another 30 seconds. Fine strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a flamed orange slice.

Spooky Potion

While gazing out over the cityscape, guests can enjoy the Spooky Potion, a creepy concoction with a deliciously vibrant taste. Just watch out for the floating eye!  

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 0.5 oz Apple Pucker
  • 0.50 oz Green Chartreuse
  • 0.25 oz Lemon Juice
  • Garnish: Lychee, Raspberry, Blueberry

Method: Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Shake for 10 seconds and strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass. Garnish with the eyeball and enjoy.

Dracula’s Dramble

Look no further than this fun fall cocktail for your next party. Pair a classic character’s costume with this new Dewar’s expression featuring fresh flavors to enjoy throughout the night.

  • ½ oz Dewar’s 12 year old
  • 1 ⅓ oz Lemon Juice
  • ⅔ oz sugar syrup
  • ½ oz Crème de Mûre

Method: Add all ingredients (without crème de mure) to glass. Fill with crushed ice, stir and swizzle. Top with more crushed ice, then drizzle crème de mure on top.

Sweet Venom

The Sweet Venom is all treat, no tricks – featuring vodka, liqueur, grenadine, lemon juice, cranberry juice and simple syrup. This frightfully fantastic drink is topped with blackberries, raspberries, orange bitters and is garnished with a black sugar rim and dried blood orange. 

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Vodka
  • 0.5 oz Liqueur

  • 2 oz ABERFELDY 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
  • 0.25  oz Apple Cider Syrup
  • 0.25 oz Averna
  • 2 dashes Orange Bitters

Method: Add all ingredients to a glass and stir. Express oil of an orange peel and garnish.

The spooky season is way s’more fun with a dessert-style cocktail! This concoction, found at Ocean Key Resort & Spa in Key West, Fla., is sweet, creamy and a certified crowd pleaser with its mix of vanilla and chocolate flavors, topped with a house-made toasted s’more. There is no trick to this treat, as this cocktail is as rich as it is delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 0.25 oz Vanilla Vodka
  • 1.25 oz Chocolate Vodka
  • 0.75 oz Kahlua
  • 1.50 oz Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Cocoa – for rim
  • House-made toasted Graham Cracker S’more – garnish

Method: Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake until completely mixed. Rim chilled martini glass with cocoa. Garnish with s’more.

 

Halloween Ground & Violet Hour

Zocca Cuisine D’Italia at The Westin Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas is serving up two delectable cocktails this spooky season. One sip of The Hallowed Ground or The Violet Hour will send chills down your spine. The Hallowed Ground features vodka, aperol, mango puree, simple syrup and lime juice, garnished with a dehydrated lime wheel and topped with a dark cocoa powder rim. The Violet Hour consists of tequila, simple syrup, and lemon juice, topped with Ginger beer, Crème de Violette and garnished with dehydrated lime and blackberry. 

Hallowed Ground Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Tito’s Vodka
  • 0.5 Aperol
  • 0.5 Mango Puree
  • 0.5 Simple Syrup
  • 0.5 Lime juice
  • Dark Cocoa Powder for Rim
  • Dehydrated Lime Wheel for Garnish

Method: Combine Tito’s Vodka and Aperol and shake on ice. Add the mango puree, simple syrup, lime juice and shake. Strain into coupe glass, after adding a dark cocoa powder rim. Garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel.

Violet Hour Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Don Julio Blanco
  • 0.75 Simple Syrup
  • 0.75 Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 oz Crème de Violette 
  • Ginger Beer
  • Garnish: Dehydrated Lime and Blackberry 

Method: Combine Don Julio Blanco Tequila, simple syrup and lemon juice. Shake over ice and strain into Collins glass. Top with Ginger beer then sink Crème de Violette. Garnish with dehydrated lime and blackberry. 

Spooky Pelican

This spooky season, there’s no tricks, only treats at Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.. Featuring a scary good cocktail, the spirited Spooky Pelican concoction is shaken with Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur and Don Julio Tequila, Chocolate Liqueur and Blue Curacao offering rich espresso and chocolate notes for an eerie-sistable delight.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur
  • 0.5 oz Don Julio Tequila
  • 0.5 oz Chocolate Liqueur
  • 0.5 oz Blue Curacao
  • 3 dashes Foam Bitters 

Method: Add all ingredients to a shaker tin and dry shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds. Add ice to the shaker and shake again for at least 30 more seconds (wet shake). Pour into rocks glasses over a large ice cube and garnish with an orange twist.

Midnight Margarita

From the mixologist team behind Southbound Tequila, the Midnight Margarita is equal parts gorgeous and ghoulish. The freakishly good floral sipper gets its pretty purple color from the butterfly pea flowers.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Butterfly Pea Flower Water*
  • 1.5 oz Southbound Tequila Blanco
  • 0.25 oz Agave
  • o   1 oz Coconut Water
  • 0.5 oz Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 oz Cointreau or Elderflower
  • 3 dashes of Fee Foam Bitters

*Butterfly pea, flower, water recipe

Soft boil one cup of water. Remove from heat. Add in five butterfly pea flowers, and infuse for 5 to 10 minutes. Pour into a jar and add in a teaspoon of lemon juice

Method: Add together all ingredients in a shaker. Do a dry shake first, then add ice and shake. Top with a fake spider!

Bloodshot Margarita 

Celebrate the most haunting time of the year while overlooking the ocean and indulging in a Halloween-inspired cocktails at The Bungalows Key Largo in Key Largo, Fla.. This spooky twist on a not-so-classic margarita will keep you in the spirit of Halloween. The Bloodshot Margarita features silver tequila, freshly squeezed blood orange juice, lime juice and simple syrup with a tajin coated edge, charred rosemary garnish and an eyeball gummy stir stick. 

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 4 oz blood orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup

Method: Combine all ingredients in shaker and shake until chilled. Pour over ice. Coat the edge with tajin, add charred rosemary and eyeball gummy stir stick. Enjoy!

Trick And Repeat

Also available at The Bungalows Key Largo, check out the spookiest sip of the season with the resort’s bewitching martini, The Trick and Repeat. With a cast of a spell, let your tastebuds be enchanted through its combination of fresh espresso, creamy peanut butter, vanilla vodka, chocolate liquor, and Bailey’s cream. Sip and savor this hauntingly delicious treat featuring a peanut butter rim with a peanut butter chocolate candies garnish. 

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbls Peanut Butter
  • 1 oz Fresh Espresso
  • 2 oz Vanilla Vodka
  • 0.5 oz Chocolate Liquor
  • 0.5 oz Baileys

Method: Combine all ingredients into shaker. Shake very well to fully introduce the peanut butter to the cocktail. Rim a martini glass with peanut butter and crushed peanut butter chocolate candies. Pour into glass. 

Blood Drive

Looking to spook a big group this Halloween, check out the Blood Drive at The Edison in Disney Springs in Orlando and served in IV bags by an official Edison phlebotomist lab coat and all. Bringing together the flavors of Espolon tequila, aperol, solerno blood orange liqueur & lime, this blood-curtling drink is served over a king cube from a blood bag. This recipe serves five and can be doubled to serve 10.

Ingredients:

  • 5 oz Aperol
  • 5 oz Solerno
  • 5 oz Espolon Silver
  • 3.75 oz Lime Juice
  • 2.5 oz Smple Syrup
  • Red Dye to Color 

Method: Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir together. Inject the mixture into IV Bags for serving. Best served over a king cube in an Old-Fashioned glass.

Rum Lantern

This hauntingly delicious Rum Lantern, served in Trader Vic‘s Hulaween Mai Tai glass,  features Ko-Ko Kreme & Passion Fruit syrup and a whole lot of rum. This spook-tacular cocktail will send shivers down your spine.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Trader Vic’s Light Rum
  • 1 oz Trader Vic’s Dark Rum
  • 0.5 oz Dry Curaçao
  • 0.5 oz Ko-Ko Kreme
  • 0.25 oz Passion Fruit Syrup
  • 0.75 oz Lime Juice
  • Crushed Ice
  • Fresh Mint and a Cherry for Garnish (or a hand carved orange zest jack-o-lantern)

Method: Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Add a small scoop of pebble ice and whip shake. Pour unstraine into your Hulaween Mai Tai glass and top with crushed or pebble ice.

Pumpkin Pie White Russian

Celebrate spooky season while indulging in a Halloween-inspired cocktail at The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa in Denver. This wickedly good libation features vodka, Kahlua and is topped with Fulton’s Harvest pumpkin pie cream liqueur. Garnished with a cinnamon stick, the taste of Fall and the spirit of Halloween are within every sip.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Kahlua
  • 1.5 oz Fulton’s Harvest Pumpkin Pie Cream Liqueur
  • Garnish: Cinnamon Stick

Method: Pour the vodka and Kahlua into glass over ice. Top with Fulton’s pumpkin liqueur and garnish with a cinnamon stick.

  • 1 oz Tommy Cask-Strength Bourbon Barrel Gin NY
  • 1 oz Bruto Americano CA
  • 0.5 oz Bully Boy Amaro MA

Method: In a mixing glass stir together liquid ingredients on ice. Place halved orange wheel into the bottom of an oversized Coop or Martini Glass. Place the Skull Cube on top using the orange as a pedestal to keep it upright. Pour the mixture over the skull cube. Garnish with fig slice. (Optional) Place into smoking cloche and smoke.

Rosemary’s Garden Of Good & Evil

Also at The Preserve Sporting Club & Residences, the Rosemary Garden of Good & Evil—made with vodka, elderflower, raspberry puree and rosemary carefully mixed in a shaker and poured into a martini glass—provides just the right amount of sweetness and darkness needed to plunge into the night for an evening of mischief and discovery.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Crop Organic Cucumber Vodka NY
  • 0.5 oz Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao France
  • 0.5 oz St. Elderflower Liquer MA
  • 0.5 oz Stained Raspberry Puree
  • 2 dashes Fee Brothers orange flower water NY
  • 2 dashes Fee Brothers rose flower water NY
  • 1 sprig Fresh rosemary
  • 3 ribbons Fresh rosemary
  • 0.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 7 pcs Fresh or Dried Rosemary Leaves (for torching)
  • 1 glass Oversized Coop Glass or Martini glass
  • 1 pcs Plastic Halloween Spider Ice Sphere
  • 2 tbsp Black Vodka (Vodka + Black dye)
  • 1 pcs Lemon Wedge
  • 1 pcs Rosemary Sprig (garnish)

Method:

Gently muddle fresh herbs in shaker tin, add liquid ingredients and ice to shaker tin and shake until chilled. On a heat and fire safe surface or small plate torch rosemary leaves and cover with glass to capture the aroma. Turn glass upright. Add Ice Sphere. Pour the above cocktail into glass. Carefully float black vodka over the top with a spoon. Add Lemon wedge to the edge of the glass with a sprig of Rosemary pushed into the lemon peel. Torch the rosemary sprig.

 

Heidi’s Black Magic-rita 

For her legendary annual Halloween party, Heidi Klum. collaborated with PATRÓN Tequila to create this year celebration’s official cocktail: Heidi’s Black-Magic-Rita. The creepy concoction is spooky twist on the classic margarita made with PATRÓN EL ALTO, blackberry and lime, complete with a black lava salt rim and spiderweb garnish.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz PATRÓN EL ALTO
  • 1 oz Blackberry Syrup*
  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 2 drops of Scrappy’s Fire Water Tincture
  • Black Lava Salt

*Blackberry Syrup

In a small saucepan, mix one cup of sugar, one cup of water with five large blackberries. Simmer and let the sugar melt. Once the blackberries are soft, muddle them with the back of a spoon. Strain through a fine mesh strainer and let cool. 

Method:

In a shaker combine PATRÓN EL ALTO, blackberry syrup, lime juice, and ice and shake. Strain and pour over ice in a rocks glass with a black salt rim. Top with two drops of fire water tincture and a sugar spider web garnish. 

Sugar Spider Web Garnish:

Combine 1 ¼  cups of sugar, ¼ cup of light corn syrup, and ¼ cup of water with muddled blackberries in a small saucepan. Start on low heat and periodically whisk to increase temperature. Using a candy thermometer, bring the mixture to 300 degrees. Place the saucepan in an ice bath and bring it down to 275 degrees. Using a fork, spin your cobweb design by drizzling the mixture over parchment in your desired shape.
