Move over, hot girls; this summer, it’s all about being “brat.” 

With her new album, Charli XCX has officially declared it to be brat summer. So, what does it mean to be brat? No, it’s not about being entitled or snarky; it’s about owning a f**k it attitude, embracing chaos, and, most of all, serving slay-worthy looks.

In an Instagram post back in June, Charli XCX described her brat album ethos as “me, my flaws, my f**k ups, my ego all rolled into one.”

“You’re just like that girl who is a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things sometimes,” she continued. “Who feels herself but maybe also has a breakdown. But kind of like, parties through it, is very honest, very blunt. A little bit volatile. Like, does dumb things. But it’s brat. You’re brat. That’s brat.”
