It’s officially the holiday season and the decor around LA isn’t the only thing that’s lit. Whether you are looking to dance ’til dawn or celebrate the season in style, you know Loop has a pulse on what’s going down.
From a Feel Good Disco party to a groovy Hanukkah kick off bash, check out our carefully curated list of what’s happening on the L.A. nightlife scene the week of Dec. 4-10.
TRC 010: Michael Jackson – Thriller Listening Party at Grandmaster Recorders
To bookend The Record Club’s first official year in action, they are hosting their tenth listening session, TRC 010 at Studio 71, inside Grandmaster Recorders. This week they will be celebrating Michael Jackson’s groundbreaking album Thriller. The record will be played on vinyl, in hi-fi sound while the host and album tour guide will set the scene, providing context about the music and share his perspective on why Thriller is one of the most important albums and moments in modern music history.

Maren Morris at The Troubadour
Music rebel Maren Morris brings her signature sound and take no shit attitude to West Hollywood’s legendary nightlife venue The Troubadour this Tuesday. Just a few months ago, Morris announced her departure from the country music genre telling the Los Angeles Times that the reason for her decision is because she has “said everything” she has wanted to say. Most recently, she released an EP titled The Bridge featuring the tracks “The Tree” and “Get the Hell Out of Here.” Greg Kurstin and Jack Antonoff alternated as producers on these songs.

The Third Place Party at The Friend
The NoName event series returns to The Friend in Los Angeles featuring up-and-coming disco/house DJs Leisan, $avvy, Denise Love Hewitt and Masgoon. The Third Place refers to our social surroundings separate from “The First Place” (home) and “The Second Place” (work). It is somewhere we can connect with others, share our thoughts and dreams, and have fun. No bad vibes. So immerse yourself in a vibrant atmosphere where you can connect with old friends and make new ones.

First Night — Infinite Light 23
Dripping latkes. Dazzling doughnuts. Royal blue cocktails + mocktails. And sounds by DJ Lippy. What better way to kick off Hanukkah. Infinite Light is NuRoots‘ ninth annual citywide Hanukkah festival and is taking over the rooftop of L.A.’s iconic Petersen Automotive Museum for a giant holiday blowout. The museum will be open all night, and you can upgrade your ticket to check out the history floor and experience the legendary Petersen vault.
This year, Infinite Light is leaning into Hachnasat Orchim (the Jewish value of hospitality and welcoming visitors). For First Night, NuRoots is embracing this by asking patrons to consider gifting a ticket forward for someone who needs help paying for one.

Diggin’ Deep at Gold Diggers Bar
Get ready for a night of uncommon grooves with DJ As-Is at Gold Diggers Bar in East Hollywood. If you like funk, soul, disco. boogie, 70’s & 80’s music this is for you. Guaranteed you’ll need and want to Shazam songs you’ve never heard but will want to hear again. There’s so many great songs that never get played anywhere. They will be played here.

Daft Disko: Los Angeles ft. Todd Edwards
Daft Disko is back at Avalon Hollywood for a night of the best French House & Disco – and this time around they’ve have something very special for you. Daft Punk vocalist/collaborator Todd Edwards – the vocalist for Daft Punk’s tracks “Face To Face” (from Daft Punk’s Discovery album) and “Fragments of Time (from Random Access Memories) will be joining the party and performing both tracks live.
Daft Disko is a party inspired by the music of Daft Punk, Breakbot, Justic, Purple Disco Machine, Soulwax, Armand Van Helden, Alex Gopher, Duck Sauce and many more.

Heaven After Dark: Doc Martin
Jane’s Addiction frontman and musical maverick Perry Farrell is the co-creator of one of the most iconic global festivals known as ‘Lollapalooza.’ Now, he has created Heave After Dark where art, music, and culture are twisted into new realities that transcend expectations for what is sure to be an extraordinary night. This Saturday, West Coast cult legend Doc Martin will be the guest of honor to usher in the second LA installation of this forward-thinking party at Doheny Room. The world famous Vinyl & Vino listening sessions are back at the Slow Jamz Gallery, where we dissect our favorite albums on a world-class sound system, hosted by Brandon Reed & Upendo Moore. This week, they will be listening to Jay-Z’s 2001 album, The Blueprint, and discussing the history and stories behind the album. The event is BYOB & snacks.
