Inside Soulection’s 15-Year LA Celebration with Crown Royal Marquis

Crown Royal Marquis x Soulection brought their Marquis Moments tour to LA, taking over Hollywood’s Detour for a one-night celebration of Soulection’s 15-year milestone.

The entrance hit first.

A wave of purple washed over us as we stepped into a hallway of neon-lit mirrors practically begging us to take a photo in front of, and the words looping back at us from every angle, “Soulection 15 Years” and “Crown Royal Marquis.” It didn’t feel like walking into another party, but more like stepping into a moment that already knows it’s going to be remembered.

This was Crown Royal’s Marquis Moments with Soulection, the Los Angeles stop of a multi-city run celebrating 15 years of Soulection, a collective that’s built its name on genre-blurring sets, global sounds, and a community-first approach to music that actually translates in real life. It’s a network you can hear and feel.

Marquis Moments touched down in LA for one night only, taking over one of Hollywood’s newest bars, Detour, in celebration of two things that don’t just coexist, but naturally overlap: the national debut of Crown Royal Marquis and 15 years of Soulection. It’s the kind of pairing that promises more than a party, and upon stepping into it, immediately delivered.

Making our way inside, the energy immediately took over. It wasn’t chaotic or try-hard, just that rare, creative balance Soulection seems to know so well. Everyone felt connected in some way. From music industry insiders and media regulars to creatives orbiting every corner of the scene, the room felt tightly threaded into the same cultural fabric where everyone was either in it or just one degree away.

Naturally, one of our first stops was the bar. Casting a dim, violet hue across the room, a glowing bar flowing with Crown Royal Marquis cocktails fueled the night ahead. I started with The Marquis Moment, a blend of pineapple, lime and soda making a classic first choice to ease into the night. I fully intended to pace myself, but the Royal Passion Punch (Crown Royal Marquis, passion fruit liqueur, vanilla, and lemon), had me going back for seconds without thinking twice.

Between rounds, there was a natural rotation: bar, dance floor, and photobooth. The photobooth, inevitably, became its own subculture within the party. People piling in, spilling out, and grabbing friends they just met five minutes ago to snap countless photos capturing the night.

What truly carried the night, though, was the music.

Curated by Soulection and anchored in their signature sound, the set moved through R&B, hit-classic mixes, and global influences layered with an upbeat pulse that made it nearly impossible to sit still. The music was intoxicating in the best way possible, especially in a city where defaulting to mindless EDM or predictable techno has become the easy out. This felt considered, lived-in, and  something you actually want to stay present for: a feeling Soulection has given crowds for 15 years now.

That’s what lingered most by the end of it all. Not just the cocktails, the crowd, or even the music on its own, but how seamlessly it all folded together into something that felt both intentional and effortless. It was a brand launch that didn’t feel like another launch, and a milestone celebration that didn’t rely on nostalgia to carry it. Just a room full of people moving to the same frequency, raising a glass to Soulection and Crown Royal Marquis in a way that felt rooted in LA’s nightlife.

Walking back through that mirrored hallway, those words that greeted us hit differently on the way out. This time, it was no longer just a visual moment, but more like a memory already starting to take shape. The kind of memory that only a night like this leaves behind. One of SoulectionCrown Royal Marquis’ tour stops where the sound, crowd, and culture move as one.
