Inside Christian Siriano’s Intimate NYFW Dinner at The Otter in SoHo

If you thought the New York Fashion Week guest list was impressive, wait until you see where everyone went after the runway. This season, the real NYFW FOMO wasn’t necessarily happening under the lights of the show itself. It was happening afterward, over tequila cocktails, late dinners, and very exclusive guest lists at some of downtown Manhattan’s buzziest restaurants. Case in point: Christian Siriano’s VIP post-show dinner at The Otter in SoHo.
Fresh off his standout NYFW runway show at Cipriani Wall Street, Siriano traded the runway for an intimate dinner at The Otter, the seafood-forward restaurant tucked inside The Manner hotel. The designer brought together approximately 30 models, celebrity guests, fashion insiders, and friends for a celebratory evening that felt like the perfect antidote to the frenzy of Fashion Week: intimate, stylish, and just exclusive enough to make everyone else wish they had made the list.
The guest list alone made the evening worth talking about. Christian Siriano was joined by Debra Messing, Billy Porter, Tiffany Haddish, JoJo Levesque, Mena Suvari, Brandy Norwood, Coco Rocha, Bronwyn Newport, Supriya Ganesh, Evan Rachel Wood, Krys Marshall, Daphne Velghe, Anna Schilling, Alicia Solombrino, and more, turning The Otter into a post-runway meeting point for some of the biggest personalities moving through NYFW.
And while the fashion may have started on the runway, the celebration quickly shifted to what New York does best: dinner and drinks.
Guests settled in for The Otter’s signature Little Gem Caesar Salad and Tuna Tartare before moving into a lineup of New York Strip Steak, Roast Chicken with citrus and creamy mushroom jus, and Steamed Halibut with warm cucumbers and mint, accompanied by fries, green beans, and silver corn maque choux. It was the kind of menu that makes a post-show dinner feel like an actual occasion rather than another Fashion Week obligation.
The cocktails brought their own moment. Avión Reposado Tequila took center stage in two of the evening’s standout libations, including an Espresso Martini and The Otter’s signature Siriano cocktail, a playful combination of Avión Reposado, Amaro Montenegro, peach liqueur, and lemon. Basically, if you needed proof that tequila has officially earned its seat at the NYFW dinner table, this was it.
The Siriano cocktail in particular felt like a fitting Fashion Week creation: polished, unexpected, and designed to keep the night going. Paired with the restaurant’s relaxed coastal atmosphere, the tequila-forward drinks helped strike that increasingly coveted balance between elevated and fun. Nobody wants a post-show dinner that feels overly formal when the entire point is to actually celebrate.
That may be why intimate dinners and after-parties have become some of the most coveted invitations during NYFW. The runway gets the headlines, but the rooms afterward are where fashion, entertainment, hospitality, and nightlife really collide. Instead of another massive event packed with cameras and crowds, the post-show dinner offers something increasingly valuable during Fashion Week: access. Thirty people around a table can create more energy, connection, and FOMO than a room full of hundreds.
The Otter is particularly well suited for that kind of night. Located inside The Manner in the heart of SoHo, the restaurant brings a seafood-centric menu together with the energy of a downtown neighborhood spot and the polish of a coastal retreat. With a full raw bar, signature entrées, daily cocktail hour, breakfast, dinner, and weekend brunch, it has quickly become the sort of place that works whether the plan is a proper dinner or simply finding somewhere worth extending the night.
For Siriano, the evening was a fitting final chapter to another major NYFW moment. The runway may have officially marked the debut of his latest collection, but the dinner at The Otter gave his inner circle a chance to slow down, raise a glass, and celebrate it together. And honestly, isn’t that the whole point of Fashion Week? The clothes may get you into the room, but it’s the tequila, the dinner, the guest list, and whatever happens after that keeps everyone talking.
During NYFW, the after-party may be where the party is, but the private dinner is where the cool crowd increasingly wants to be.
