Super Bowl Sips: Elevated Cocktails To Mix Up On Game Day

Drink like a champion…….
Super Bowl LVIII is almost here and whether you are watching the big game with a few friends or hosting a huge bash, you’ll need some drinks to keep the party going.
But this year, go a step beyond basic beer and served up some spirited cocktails, inspired by Kansas City Chiefs, the San Francisco 49ers and the game of football itself.
From sporty sippers to batched punch for the whole cheer squad, check out some creative Super Bowl drinks below.
Purdy’s Palmer
Inspired by the beloved 49ners’ QB Brock Purdy, this boozy twist on a traditional Arnold Palmer features a delicious blend of Dewar’s double-aged blended Scotch whisky, green iced tea, peach liquor and lemon juice.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz. Dewar’s 12 Year Old
- .5 oz. Peach Liqueur
- .75 oz. Lemon Juice
- .25 oz. Simple Syrup
- 2 oz. Unsweetened Green Iced Tea
Method: Shake all ingredients and strain over fresh ice in a highball glass. Top with iced green tea. Stir gently to combine. Garnish with dehydrated peach and mint.
The KC Whisky Sour: Jamaal Charles’ Signature Crown Royal Cocktail

No muss, no fuss, the former Kansas City running back’s sleek drink uses Crown Royal Deluxe, simple syrup and lemon juice.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz. Crown Royal Deluxe
- .75 oz. Simple Syrup (you can adjust the sweetness to your liking)
- .75 oz. Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
Method: Serve on the rocks and garnish with a lemon slice and cherry.
Tastes Like Team Spirit
From the team behind Kevin Hart’s Gran Coramino Tequila, the Tastes Like Team Spirt is a fan-favorite cocktail inspired by the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. A light margarita alternative, it’s perfect to batch into a pitcher for viewing parties with custom fruit garnishes for your preferred team.
Ingredients:
- 750 ml. Bottle of Gran Coramino Cristalino
- 2 cups Fresh Lime Juice
- 2 cups Cane Sugar
- 7 cups Cold Premium Water
- 2 Limes (covers Limeade base and 3 custom cup garnishes)
- Strawberry, Lemon, Raspberries and Blackberries for garnish
Method:
Part 1: Limeade (Batch size)
Blend the below together for 1 minute, 2 cups fresh lime juice, 2 cups Cane Sugar. Add 2 cups of water and blend for 1 minute. Add 1 lime, quartered and blend for 10 seconds. Strain . Combine with 7 cups of cold premium water in punch bowl-1 gallon or larger container. (Tip: Use Mountain Valley or similar that’s in a nice glass bottle but remove label to shoot). Add 750 ml bottle of Gran Coramino Cristalino.
Part 2: Custom Garnishes
Pour a serving of Limeade into rocks glass. Garnish with strawberry and lemon if you are rooting for the Chiefs. Garnish with raspberries, blackberries if you are rooting for the 49ers.

Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz. Eric LeGrand Bourbon
- .5 oz. Campari
- .25 oz. Ginger Liqueur
- .5 oz. Honey Syrup
- .5 oz. Lemon Juice
- 1 oz. Black Tea
- Top with Ginger Beer
Method:
Combine ingredients except ginger beer and shake. Pour into glass with ice. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with lime wheel.
Cosomo Catch
Catch cocktails, not feelings. Whether your team is winning or losing, you’ll want to knock back Smirnoff‘s vodka-based Cosmo Catch, which is a game day twist on the cosmopolitan.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Smirnoff No. 21
- .5 Lime Juice
- 3 oz Cranberry Juice
- Dash of Ginger Bitters
- Garnish 1 Orange Wedge
Method: Add all ingredients into a highball glass filled with ice and garnish with an orange wedge.
49ers Gold Rush
Liquid gold! The sophisticated San Fran sipper mixes Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup and egg white.
Ingredients:
- 2 parts Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey
- 1 part Lemon Juice
- ½ part Simple Syrup
- ½ an Egg White
Method: Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake until chilled and fine strain into a Rocks glass over ice.
Mahomes Mule Kick
Named after Kansas City’s QB Patrick Mahomes, this whiskey based mule is best served in a copper mug, which takes on the cold temperature of the drink itself.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey
- 4 oz Ginger Beer
- .5 Fresh Lime, cut into two wedges
Method: In a copper mug filled with ice, add whiskey and ginger beer. Squeeze in juice of one lime wedge and drop the spent lime hull into the drink. Stir well and garnish with remaining lime wedge.
Over Thyme
Using Q Mixers‘ popular tonic as a base the Over Thyme cocktail is light, bright treat featuring gin, grapefuit juice and a touch of honey.
Ingredients:
- 4 oz. Q Mixers Spectacular Tonic
- 1.5 oz. Gin
- 1 oz. Red Grapefruit Juice
- 0.5 oz. Honey
- Thyme Sprig
Method: Dissolve honey in grapefruit juice, add gin and shake. Strain into a highball glass and top with tonic. Garnish with thyme sprig.
Red & Gold Vs. Red & Gold
The Chiefs and the 49ners have super similar team colors, so no matter who you are cheering on, toast ro their touchdowns with the Red & Gold Vs. Red & Gold cocktail made with s base of Aberfeldy‘s rich single malt Scotch whisky.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Aberfeldy 12
- .25 oz Averna
- .25 oz Martini Bitter
- .25 oz Chamomile Syrup
- .5 oz Lemon Juice
Method: Medium shake, strain over fresh ice in rocks glass.

Ingredients:
- 12 oz. Captain Original Spiced Rum
- 6 oz. Pineapple
- 5 oz. Lime juice

Method: In a punch bowl filled with ice, combine Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, pineapple juice, lime juice, and simple syrup, and stir to combine. Upon serving, garnish with a pineapple or lime wedge.

Although some are reluctant to admit, Taylor Swift has made a name for herself in the football space. What better way to toast to the team than alongside the “Shake It Off” songstress herself, sipping on her favorite cocktail to date.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Bombay Sapphire Gin
- .75 oz. St-Germain
- .5 oz. Lillet Blanc
- 1.5 oz. Fresh Strained Grapefruit Juice
- 1 dash Lemon Bitters
Method: Shake and pour in a coupe glass. Garnish with a grapefruit twist.
