Ayo Edebiri's Hairstylist Breaks Down Her Unexpected SAG Awards Curls

The 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, honoring the best achievements in film and television performances for the past year, was presented on Feb. 24 at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in LA.
Ayo Edebiri, who plays young chef Sydney Adamu in Hulu’s “The Bear, was undoubtably one of the most buzzed about stars of the night., taking home two SAG Awards—one for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series and one with her castmates for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
Ahead of her big win, the actress stunned on the red carpet in a dramatic checked gown from Luar’s Fall 2023 collection. To complete her look, Aye ditched her signature sleek bob long for long, luscious and unexpected curls, thanks to celebrity stylist Miles Jeffries and TRESemmé.

Step 1
Miles first prepared Ayo’s damp hair with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth weightless perfecting leave in lotion. Once that absorbed, he layered in TRESemmé Extra Hold alcohol free Gel, smoothing and organizing the hair exactly where he wanted it to be set.

Step 2
Next, Miles defused Ayo’s hair with the GHD Helios Advanced Professional Hair Dryer until fully dry.

Once dry, he used the GHD Thin Curling Wand to perfect and polish her long waves. He also added braids to each side of her head for some added texture, tucking them behind her ears.
