Sebastian Melrose and Jaden Bosjen: The Friendship That Moves the Crowd

THE Dynamic Duo…

In the fast-paced, electrifying realms of nightlife and social media, connections often flicker as quickly as a strobe light. But the friendship between Sebastian “Seb” Melrose and Jaden Bojsen is a rare exception—a bond as steady and enduring as it is vibrant. Seb, the charismatic Scotsman renowned for his successful racing career and turn on Netflix’s Too Hot to Handle, and Jaden, the German-born DJ whose sets in Ibiza and the viral anthem “Let’s Go” with David Guetta have set dance floors ablaze worldwide, have forged a partnership that’s as dynamic as their high-power careers. Both breaking boundaries in their fields, they’re proof that friendship and ambition don’t just coexist—they thrive.

Sitting down with Loop Magazine at the chic Hotel Ziggy and Mars Hollywood, Seb and Jaden opened up about their incredible journeys, giving us a backstage pass to their lives. The duo shared insights into their careers, their roots, and the dynamic that makes their friendship one of a kind. It was a conversation packed with laughter, revelations, and a deeper look at the forces driving two of today’s most exciting stars.

Getting to know Sebastian Melrose is a thrill in itself. With his mix of Salvadoran-Scottish heritage, race car prowess, and magnetic personality, Seb is as fascinating off the track as he is in the driver’s seat. His journey began with Formula Ford 1600 racing in his teens, where he quickly made a name for himself, winning prestigious accolades like the David Leslie Trophy and the Champion of Brands title.

Transitioning to closed-wheel racing with Walkenhorst Motorsport in the German VLN series, he solidified his status as a motorsport talent to watch. But Seb’s appeal goes far beyond racing. His charm and humor stole hearts on Too Hot to Handle Season 4, where he emerged as the runner-up. Whether he’s hitting top speeds on the track or winning over audiences on screen, Seb seamlessly blends adrenaline-fueled ambition with a suave, media-savvy presence.

Jaden Bojsen, meanwhile, is an unstoppable force in the world of music. Known for his infectious energy and relatable personality, Jaden first rose to fame as a member of the boy band New District. Hits like “Closer” and “Ain’t Got Money” racked up millions of views and even earned the group a Teen Choice Award nomination. But Jaden’s passion for electronic music soon took center stage, leading him to a solo career as a DJ and producer. Today, he’s synonymous with the Ibiza nightlife scene, sharing stages with legends like David Guetta at iconic venues such as Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza. Tracks like “Let’s Go” and “Thinking About You” showcase his innovation and undeniable talent, solidifying his place as one of the most exciting artists in electronic music.

Together, Seb and Jaden have built a friendship as enviable as their careers. Whether traveling the world, supporting each other’s endeavors, or squeezing in a quick call between time zones, their bond is unshakable. Despite their busy schedules, they make it work, showing us all that true friendship knows no boundaries.

To unravel the origins of this bromance, Loop asked Seb and Jaden to turn the tables and interview each other for our exclusive November cover story. From hilarious stories of how they met to the values that drive them both, they took us behind the scenes of their incredible connection. Seb: What was your first impression of me?

Jaden: “That’s a good question. Honestly, I can’t really remember. The only thing I remember is that my sister was texting me and she was like, ‘Oh, you see Seb, they’re at this club, do you see them?’ I was like oh, yeah. Then we saw each other at the gym. We got introduced and I thought you were really cool, and then we became best friends.”

Jaden: Would you DJ with me? If yes, what would your opening song be?

Seb: “I would DJ with you. I would actually, that is a dream of mine. I just don’t know if I’ve got the ear for it. The opening song, I reckon, would be… remember that Star Wars song you made?

Jaden: “Yeah, I remember the Star Wars song. But I have a better one in mind. We made one song together, it says like, fuck it. Because Seb always says that. He used to say it all the time. So I recorded him in the studio saying that. I actually played it at one of the shows you came to with me.

Seb: “He played the song we made that night.”

Jaden: “Yeah, it was funny. That would be the opening song. Do you think that should be the opening one?”

Seb: “Yeah, fuck it. We made a song based on what I love to say. Whenever I’m faced with a task, I just say, fuck it and I do it.”

Seb: Do you like having people in the DJ booth with you?

Jaden: “Actually, I do. I think it’s really cool because it gives more energy, you know? So I love having you and my friends there because we all vibe with each other. Because if you’re all the way over there, of course, you do your own thing. But if you’re with me, next to me, with a lot of people there, we all party together. There’s more energy there. I like it when the turntables are in the middle and there’s all the people around and behind me.”

Seb: “Yeah, I like being back there as well. I like being away from the hustle and bustle.”

Jaden: What music do you prefer DJs play at clubs?

Seb: “Oh, that’s a good question. At certain times of the night, I like different songs. So when I was at one of your performances in Ibiza, I liked how you did a little mid-break because it was going hard then a little bit of a break, and then going hard again. It also depends on how many drinks I’ve had.”

Seb: Do you take song requests?

Jaden: “It really depends. I would have to like the song myself. If I have a big show that I’m playing in front of tons of people, I know what I’m playing because I’m playing the drum machine. I’d also have to time it with visuals and stuff. But if I’m playing at a private party or after party or whatever, and someone comes to me and they say, “Oh, you should play this song.’ And I like the song, I’ll include it.”

Jaden: Top 3 club songs – 123 go

Jaden: “‘Let’s go’”

Seb: “I was going to leave this to the end just to see his reaction, but for sure, ‘Let’s Go’. That is number one right now. And another two songs. Oh, you played this song, it was really good. I can’t remember what it was.”

Jaden: “I know which one. The new The Weekend.”

Seb: “Oh, The Weekend. Oh, I love it. Is that a club song?”

Jaden: “Not really, but he’s been begging me to play it every time we’re driving in the car.”

Seb: “I feel like every song needs a car test. If a song is good in the car, it’s good. The Weekend, I like it when he plays The Weekend in his car and we’re just cruising down the hills. I like that one.”

Seb: Let’s talk crowd size – would you say yours are big or small?

Seb: “I’ve seen it. It’s big. Yeah.

Jaden: “It just really depends where you DJ, you know? Like sometimes you have big crowds, you have small crowds. I played Ushuaïa, there were 10,000 people in Ibiza. Then Hï Ibiza was like 5,000. But then in LA, it’s usually smaller. I like all kinds of (crowds), I do like the small stuff as well because it’s more fun. I like it because you don’t know what’s happening. Like I just DJ, we all have fun. Like it’s not really that important. But if there’s like a big, big crowd, you get more nervous.”

I actually like it when you play small venues.

Seb: “Can I give an opinion as well? I actually like it when you play small venues. Because I feel like when I’ve seen small clubs and there’s a few hundred people in there or whatever, they’re all intimate, like they all love what you’re doing. Yeah. But with big stuff,  there’s some people over there having a drink, having a conversation. Some people kissing girls, kissing guys, whatever. Then some people in the middle are having fun. But I think when you’re in a small club, everybody’s there for you and I think that’s sick.”

Jaden: Accent time! Imitate an American girl drunk at a party.

Seb: “Hello, what’s your name? Are you single? Is that what they say?”

Jaden: “Do you want to get fucked up tonight?”

Seb: “It will be more like, oh my God, look at him over there.”

Seb: Do Germans really sit around eating pretzels and drinking beer all day?

Jaden: “I do like beer. I don’t drink, but when I choose to drink, I have a beer. I like non-alcoholic beer. I actually do drink that.”

Seb: “What’s the point in non-alcoholic beer?”

Jaden: “I like the taste of it, I guess, cause I’m German. I don’t know. But I don’t think they sit around eating pretzels. I mean, right now it’s Oktoberfest. So right now, yes, they do probably drink beer and eat pretzels the whole time. But it’s more, we eat a lot of döner.”

Jaden: Debunk Scottish stereotypes.

Seb: “There’s a lot of stereotypes in Scotland, but mainly there’s a stereotype that none of us wear underwear under our kilts.”

Jaden: “Oh, that’s actually true. You never wear underwear.”

Seb: “No, I actually do wear underwear sometimes. Under kilts especially, yeah.

It can get really cold. So yeah, that’s a stereotype. Apparently we all live in castles. That’s not true. We all eat haggis all the time. That’s not true. I do love haggis. We do eat it a lot on a Sunday.”

Seb: Who, besides me, do you like partying with the most?

Jaden: “I like partying with my mom. She’s cool.”

Seb: “What does she do that’s different?”

Jaden: “She’s just fun. I don’t know. She likes to party. She goes out and she’s fun.”

Seb: “That’s nice and sweet. You’re going to be America’s new sweetheart.”

Jaden: “Maybe. Love you, mom.”

I like partying with my mom. She's cool.

Jaden: What’s the most lit night you’ve ever had?

Seb: “I’ve never done anything like this before, but this was Coachella 2024. We had been out partying all day, listening to all the acts like DJ Snake. Justin Bieber was supposed to come on. There was a big mess up and his microphone didn’t work so he ran back upstairs. It was crazy.

Then we went from there to John Summit’s set at an airfield. There were private jets everywhere. People were flying in on their jets, getting off the jets, watching John Summit then flying away.

It was crazy. We went from there to this sunrise party, and I was there until 11 a.m. I can’t usually do that, but I thought, you know what? YOLO. I’m doing it. And that was the craziest night. There’s all these celebrities, like A-list people, just hanging out with you and stuff.”

Seb: What’s your favorite memory of us?

Jaden: “We’ve made good memories every single time.”

Seb: “Yeah, we always have good memories.”

Jaden: “I mean, we always have fun together. So, I mean, I can’t answer it.”

Seb: “That is a true friendship. Even when we’re sitting doing nothing, it’s a good memory.”

Jaden: “Yeah. Love you, man.”

Seb: “Love you.”

Jaden: What color do you think I should dye my hair?

Seb: “I thought about this already. Silver.”

Jaden: “Silver?”

Seb: “Yeah, like white. Sheet white.”

Jaden: “I’ve had that before.”

Seb: “Do it again.”

Jaden: “Yeah, it’s kind of cool. That’d be fire. I need to find a hairdresser here in LA. I have to talk to my manager first.”

Jaden Bojsen at Mars Hollywood

Seb: Honestly, what do you think of my drip?

Jaden: “I actually really like it. It’s fire. We already said the pants are really, really cool.

You can’t see the pants. Stand up. Show the pants. Do you see that? Fire.”

Seb: “What do you think? Good?”

Jaden: “Really nice pants. They’re sick.”

Seb: “I always dress (well). If it is something that I have to pick out myself, it’s drip.”

Jaden: “He takes forever to find his outfits.”

Seb: “I’m very particular with how I like to look. I like to look sharp.”

Jaden: “He’s staying with me right now for a couple of days while he’s here in LA. It’ll take him forever.”

Jaden:  Would you get matching tattoos with me?

Seb: “Yes. Yeah.”

Jaden: “What would we get?”

Seb: “Let’s go.”

Jaden: “Where would you get it?”

Seb: “On my thigh.”

I don't drink, but I still love to party. I still stay up and party until whenever.

Seb: How do you prepare for sets? What’s your pregame ritual?

Jaden: “I don’t drink, but I still love to party. I still stay up and party until whenever.”

Seb: “I don’t know how you do it. If I’m out partying, I need to be on everyone’s level or I just don’t like socializing.”

Jaden: “I quit drinking three years ago and I don’t do drugs as well. I feel like the excitement of DJing, getting the energy, there’s nothing more crazy than that. We still pregame; I like being the host. We all have fun and have a good time together. I really enjoy that. That’s what kind of excites me. So we pregame at my house or we have dinner before. It just really depends if I have jet lag or not. Sometimes I sleep before I wake up and go straight to the show, but it depends.

Seb: Do you love me?

Jaden: “It’s a hard question.”

Seb: “I knew you’d say that.”

Jaden: “Of course I love you, bro. You’re my bro.”

Seb: “I love you, brother.”

Jaden: “I love you too.”
