Fourth of July Picnic on the Dance Floor at The Mixx

Its officially summer and Fourth of July Weekend so The Mixx in Pasadena is hosting a racial 80s-themed picnic and dance party complete with live music—including performance by tribute band THE KROWS— DJ set by Jack Tames, by refreshing drinks, food specials, free sparklers and fireworks.

This week, international Italian DJ Sarime will open the night and launch her new mix to kick off Fouth of July weekend in Santa Monica. Yoi Toki: A Future Funk / Vaporwave Party at Teragram Ballroom

Yoi Toki returns to Los Angeles at Terageram Ballroom for a night of Future Funk insanity. Future Funk is a Vaporwave subgenre that emerged around 2010 (championed by artists such as Yung Bae, Night Tempo and Macross 82-99). It draws from 70s disco, disco house, vaporwave and Japanese City Pop influences, resulting in a sound that is upbeat, insanely danceable, very disco and very funky. Future Funk’s aesthetic is a nostalgic mix 90s anime and ’80s consumer culture. This Friday, the lineup will include DJs like Jak Syn, Prom1se, and 96.FM.

Brunch Electronik at Exposition Park
